I don't know where else to ask this, considering the only "help" forum is for GMod stuff only, so I'm posting it here. There's no "relevant thread" for Spore so here i am.
Can't post on the Spore forums since registration requires a Spore account and I don't have one because it won't run.
I've been unable to run the Steam Edition of Spore for quite some time now, and i have no idea why.
I've tried to run it in safe mode, every compatibility mode, Administrator mode, lowering my resolution, screwing with the dx level, everything, and yet, it won't work!
I just need some help lads.
some info on your system would be helpful
Didn't Spore have some really fucking terrible DRM that doesn't even work anymore?
I guess I'd try just downloading a cracked copy and see if that works.
windows 10 doesnt play any games that have securom in it anymore but the steam version had securom removed
you can't register for a spore account ingame even if you could launch it. a quick chat to ea support and they can sort you out with a spore account. the game does run fine on win10 for me so its still a mystery to why it doesn't work for you.

You don't need a spore account to run the game though, you just need an account for online functionality like downloading other people's creations.
Was meant to post this the other day but it never went through
Does Steam supply a CD key like similiar games? You can redeem this on Origin, if not EA support will most likely help redeem it

The Steam edition and its DLC has a key, but there have been cases where the Steam key for an EA title wasn't redeemable on Origin for a secondary copy. It might be possible for them to redeem it on Origin, but it's not guaranteed to work.

yeah, that's what EA support is meant to handle
In about 90% of cases they handle it ok, usually moreso for defunct titles
It's how I got BF2: Complete edition off a physical serial key
