Counter-Terrorists can win the round by defusing the bomb, while the Terrorists must plant the bomb at one of two bombsites (usually located near Counter-Terrorist spawn) and ensure detonation of the explosive. The secondary objective, which also secures a victory for either team, is to eliminate all members of the opposing team (however, if the bomb is already planted and all Terrorists are eliminated the round does not end until the bomb is defused or detonated). If the round time expires, the Counter-Terrorists win by default. [B]Hostage Rescue[/B] - OG cs used to only have this mode before CS 1.2 (or maybe 1.1). Basically the CT's have to rescue hostages from the T's. People don't really play it anymore because it's inferior to defusal. [B]Deathmatch[/B] - Valve Deathmatch is basically a team deathmatch where you win by getting points for killing. There are point bonuses and stuff too. If you actually want to practice by deathmatching however (a good idea) you will want to play on a community run FFA 128 tick dm, in EU I recommend BrutalCS or Titan servers. NA you're stuck with Fragshack. [B]Arsenal: Demolition[/B] - I dont understand what this shit is. Whenver I play it I get matched with trashers. It seems like defusal with shorter timers and you aren't allowed to buy. [B]Arsenal: Arms Race[/B] - Arms Race is basically gungame. You get kills with successive weapons and the first person to get a golden knife kill wins. [B]Surf[/B] - You surf on ramps. Good for practicing airstrafing, though more for fun than anything else. Comes in Skillsurf (trying to complete a surf course as fast as possible) and Surf DM (You dm but whilst surfing) variants. The best skillsurf servers are KSF servers. [B]Climb[/B] - Kz/Climb is like skillsurf, but instead of sliding on ramps you have to strafe jump/bhop/pretty much any other type of movement to the map finish. This is the best way to practice your overall movement. [B]Bhop[/B] - It's like climb but rather than being focused on precise jumping and vertical movements, bhop is about bhopping across a much less vertical map. If anyone actually bothered to watch him play when he streams, he's pretty bad and just gets lucky with his shots. Only thing he can consistently do is bhop but that's not really hard once you've cracked the method to be honest. ESEA I can't really comment on as I've never used it, but from I've heard its hit and miss as well, plus you get RWS whores who are toxic.

FaceIT, as Reagy said, suffers from shitty matchmaking before you get a reasonable (5+) level. It's all the MGE's who are "I deserve to be LE" that cause it to be a mess. ESEA is rank whores, RWS whores (it's a dumb stat that tries to COMPLETELY describe the usefulness of someone) and pretty much a rootkit. FaceIT is as close as you're gonna get to a perfect system, as long as you battle through the beginning problems. If you can't bust through to level 6+ (SMFC-GE) however, it's gonna be a mess.
