Dishonored is a first-person stealth action video game series developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. Harvey Smith, known for his involvement in the Deus Ex and System Shock series, and Raphael Colantonio, founder of Arkane Studios and contributor to such games as Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, are the lead creative designers for the Dishonored series. The series consists of the original Dishonored, its downloadable addons such as "The Knife of Dunwall" and "The Brigmore Witches", and the upcomming sequel Dishonored 2.

ABOUT
Dishonored is a first-person stealth action video game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on October 9th, 2012.
A Game of the Year edition, containing all released DLC, was released in October 2013. The Definitive Edition, featuring all released DLC, and PC like graphics for next gen consoles, was released on Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in August 2015.
Set in the fictional, plague-ridden industrial city of Dunwall, Dishonored follows the story of Corvo Attano, bodyguard to the Empress of the Isles. He is framed for her murder and forced to become an assassin, seeking revenge on those who conspired against him. Corvo is aided in his quest by the Loyalists, a resistance group fighting to reclaim Dunwall, and the Outsider, a powerful being who imbues Corvo with magical abilities.
Dishonored has four primary DLC packs, each with different themes and content. Dunwall City Trials contains mission-based mini-games based on the world of Dishonored. Void Walker's Arsenal contains all in-game bonuses, originally given out with pre-ordered copies of the game, but is also included in the Game of the Year edition and Definitive Edition. The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches follow the story of Daud, antagonist and nemesis to Corvo, who must solve a mystery given to him by the Outsider before his time of redemption - and the Empire's - runs out.

When was Corvo confirmed as Emily's father?
When was Corvo confirmed as Emily's father?
harvey confirmed it live in the e3 showcase this year, around the moment when he talks a little bit about the plot
When was Corvo confirmed as Emily's father?
It was pretty much all but stated in 1 iirc
I always thought it was heavily implied but not stated, as it was in secret.
I'm replying through the first again in anticipation of the release of #2, such a good game. I'm trying to do a ghost non-lethal playthrough... SO MANY RELOADS
Recently went through the game again and it's still pretty great, I need to pick up the DLC soon.
When was Corvo confirmed as Emily's father?
Corvo and the empress were secretly lovers. It's heavily implied at different points depending on your chaos level.
In low chaos Emily labels all of her drawings of corvo "daddy" and in high chaos Pendleton says "Everyone knew you were screwing the empress!".
I love games that tell the story like this instead of directly stating everything. I hope the second game keeps it up.
Dishonored 2 at QuakeCon – Corvo High Chaos Demo
Fifteen years later and Corvo’s still on point.
Dishonored 2 features a new playable character – the young Empress, Emily Kaldwin – but it also marks the return of the first game’s hero: the Royal Protector-turned-assassin Corvo Attano. At E3 2016, Arkane Co-creative Director Harvey Smith delivered the world-premiere of Dishonored 2 gameplay, which featured Emily Kaldwin along with her all-new powers. At this year’s QuakeCon, Smith showed off new gameplay behind closed doors – this time with Corvo in the spotlight. And from what he revealed, it’s clear that Corvo’s out for blood, playing for keeps.
some footage they put in the form of gifs (and not something like webms like any sensible person in the year 2016 would do);

I have a friend who complains about Dishonored 2 that it plays too similiar to Dishonored 1.
He doesn't have this problem with Fallout 4, Battlefield 4 or XCom 2.
About the whole Corvo is Emily's father. I'm pretty sure there are hints throughout the first game. Plus I think you can actually find the Empress' audio log (secret room when you go eliminate Burrows) which I think confirms it.
Loved Dishonored 1, and hyped as hell for the second game.
So is the Low Chaos ending confirmed to be the canonical one?
they've also released some new screenshots and concept art

To be perfectly honest, I'd had liked a more original Overseers' redesign
Does anyone agree with me on the fact that Sokolov now looks like Charles Darwin?

Dishonoured is $5USD on Steam... Should I?
Is any of the DLC worth it?
Got the game two days ago and holy shit it's so good. Also the fact that Victor Antonov worked on the game really shows, every time I looked at those barrier walls and other tech my only thought was "That's some 19th century Combine stuff".

Completely worth it. It's a great and (I think) underrated game, especially at that price.
As for Dishonored 2, I can't wait to not be able to play it on my aging computer.

Sold.
Deus Ex HR was next on my to-play list but it may have to be pushed back yet again...

That is also a pretty good game which I'd recommend.
Has it been stated anywhere if you're locked to one character in Dishonored 2? Do you pick Emily or Corvo at the start and are stuck with them all game, or can you swap between levels?

I can't find the source right now but I'm pretty sure they said that you choose between them at the start of each mission.

That could be kinda interesting
Supposing that Emily is more fragile than Corvo, but she has more powerful Outsider's powers, and Corvo in turn is more resilient, but less effective in the magical department, you could do the first run of the game as Corvo and then a second run with Emily as an harder mode
I thought you chose at the beginning and stuck with them for the game?
I thought you chose at the beginning and stuck with them for the game?
This was my impression from the E3 conference. You picked one at the start and that was it. Now swapping characters would be interesting. Assum they still use runes for upgrading powers, it becomes a question of "do I want the versatility of having two somewhat developed characters, or one very powerful character?"
If we can refuse the outsider's gift, that would mean Corvo would have to have it stripped away then wouldn't it?
That is also a pretty good game which I'd recommend.
Oh don't worry, I know. I really enjoyed it; it's one of the few games of the past few years which really held my attention and compelled me to complete it. Just been getting the itch to play through it again!
Finally got Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches since they're on sale - playing as Daud is pretty awesome so far, and the Rothwild Slaughterhouse level was great, on to the Legal District!
After a friend gifted me Brigmore Witches I decided to finally play the Daud campaign –•trying to go Low Chaos again but does [sp]destroying the factory[/sp] end the level in High Chaos automatically? Would make sense in the game world of course but in the actual game I didn't kill anybody and also was never once detected.
To get Low Chaos, do I just play the level without [sp]blowing the factory[/sp] up?
I remember when I played the slaughterhouse level [sp]I went to all the effort of putting the guy into the box alive but then I blew up the factory. The box evidently wasn't blast-proof because my non-lethal takedown became anything but.[/sp]
IIRC [sp] Burning the slaughterhouse down counts as killing everyone inside [/sp]
