[/B]Don't Starve Together is the long awaited (standalone) multiplayer expansion for Don't Starve. It is a Top Down survival game in the traditional sense where you have to hunt for food, defend yourself from monsters, make allies, build a base, become a scientist and eventually a magician. This may sound confusing at first but the gameplay is pretty straightforward with a unique art style and a simple but effective crafting system. There are a lot of different play styles and most of it is self explationary although I would recommend reading a guide if you want to survive the first winter. It is still in Early Access but don't let that scare you, this time it's not a shitty unfinnished rip off and the devs are constantly pushing out updates; fixing bugs and adding new content. It is already very playable with a lot of content. Every character comes with his own stats and special powers and mastering all of them is a huge task, as their playstyles vary extremely. [B] Basics [/B] Like every good survival game, DST has some bars you should always have filled up incase you don't want to die. The 3 major stats are Hunger, Health and Sanity. While the first two don't require an explanation I will familiarize (I hope that is a word) you a little with the third one. Sanity is a very important aspect of DST and you should always try to stay sane. If you turn insane you will start seeing eyes in the dark, monsters, hands trying to put out your light when it's a dark and other not so friendly things. There are some bonuses which you can only get when insane but when starting you shouldn't worry about that. [B] Modding [/B] Modding is a huge part of DST and DS and there are already over 500 mods for DST and the modding community is quite active. You can download everything from gameplay tweaks and adjustements, to new characters, creatures, pets, monsters etc. There already is some very cool stuff out there if you look for it. I have some love for Don't Starve. Love how I feel ripped off for having to buy a multiplayer version of the game when I already own the base game. "except you get it for free when it gets released" oh ok...derrr

I'm so glad a don't starve thread has been made. I was tempted to if no one else was going to soon. It'd be fun if there was a facepunch don't starve together server made, since its so easy to host and whatnot!

So what's the farthest everyone has got playing with their friends? I think the farthest my guys have made it is like, winter with 3 people. We're not all that great.
