It's about as basic as you can get, but still a classic and it came with two mission packs. GTA (and GTA2) is available for free download on Rockstar's official website, as well as Steam (but you have to buy it as part of a collection there). Mission Packs Release: April 29 1999 [GTA: London 1969] June 1 1999 [GTA: London 1961] These two mission packs were the first expansions for Grand Theft Auto, and set about expanding the core gameplay and changing the main locale to London instead of the United States. Grand Theft Auto 2 [t]http://i.imgur.com/s7a3RIK.jpg[/t] Release: September 30, 1999 For the PC, PS1, Dreamcast and Gameboy Advance. It offered an improved version of the original GTA and allowed you to do work for seperate gangs. -- 3D Era Grand Theft Auto 3 [t]http://i.imgur.com/ECOf0kZ.jpg[/t] Release: October 22, 2001 Hailed the granddaddy of all open world 3D games, GTA3 was released for the PS2, Xbox and PC. The silent protagonist (revealed in later games to be Claude) is betrayed by his girlfriend in a robbery, and you set out to gain revenge on her through moving up in the crime ladder. It set the precedent for all the future 3D GTA games and was very amazing and controversial for its time, as well as establishing Liberty City (the first arguably well known city in the GTA series). It was rereleased later for the iOS and Android phones on its anniversary, as well as being available on the Playstation Network. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City [t]http://i.imgur.com/ftkmmle.jpg[/t] Release: October 29, 2002 Vice City was released for the PS2, PC and Xbox. It is set in the fictional Florida settlement of Vice City, and takes a lot of inspiration and flair from the 80s, as well as loosely following the Scarface theme for the story. Features a lot of rad music, colourful scenary and motherfucking helicopters, as well as introducing the first talking protagonist Tommy Vercetti. It was rereleased later for the iOS and Android on its anniversary, and is also available on the PSN. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas [t]http://i.imgur.com/EKTqTCa.jpg[/t] Release: October 26, 2004 Released on for the PS2, PC and Xbox, it is the largest GTA game to date in the 3D Era. It features a whole state, San Andreas, instead of just one city, with three cities loosely based off Los Angeles (Los Santos) and San Francisco (San Fierro) of California, and Las Vegas (Las Venturas) of Nevada. It is seen to be the most popular GTA game still today, as it bought a lot of new features to the table. The usefulness of these features (the rpg style elements primarily) is hotly debated amongst many fans. Also introduced Carl 'CJ' Johnson, make of him what you will. You can also swim in this one, finally. It is available on PSN and XBLM. Grand Theft Auto: Advance Release: October 25, 2004 Developed by an independant studio (Digital Eclipse) for the Game Boy Advance. Features a new main character called Mike who does criminal work in Liberty City. Considered by some to be the weakest link in the series. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories [t]http://i.imgur.com/JKpk4wC.jpg[/t] Release: October 24, 2005 For the PSP (and a year later on the PS2), this is a spinoff to GTA3 (set three years before) putting players in the shoes of capo Toni Cipriani, who rises through the Leone ranks in Liberty City and earns the trust of his boss Salvatore Leone. Now available on Android & iOS Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories [t]http://i.imgur.com/8bBy8it.jpg[/t] Release: October 31, 2006 Also for the PSP (and again ported to the PS2 only), this is the earliest canon GTA game in the 3D era and is set two years before Vice City, showing how dishonourably discharged army private Victor Vance rises through the criminal underworld in Vice City just to survive (and dealing with Lance.. fucking Lance). Features a lot of pastel coloured suits, more 80s music and the return of swimming. -- HD Era Grand Theft Auto IV [t]http://i.imgur.com/QwBOnx7.jpg[/t] Release: April 29, 2008 The most detailed game ever released in the series, Grand Theft Auto IV hit the shelves for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It details the journey of Niko Bellic, an immigrant fresh off the boat from Europe inspired to start a new life after reading his cousin's many letters about how awesome America is. However, once he gets there he finds out that Roman was just telling bullshit stories and is forced to work his way through the shady dealings of Liberty City to secure some money and deal with his past at the same time. This is set in a completely new universe (with references to the 3D era but no reappearances of the old characters) and features some really amazing physics and graphics, and keeps the overall classic GTA gameplay. Just be weary of getting persistent phone calls from all your friends. There's also the PC port, notorious in its ability to work in technologically impossible ways on every machine as well as being bundled with GFWL, but as of a few patches, GFWL has been removed completely and the game optimised. Episodic Content [t]http://i.imgur.com/dkyLGwk.jpg[/t] Release: 17 Feburary 2009 [TLAD] 29 October 2009 [TBOGT] The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony were released as two-parters to GTA4, part of a deal with Microsoft Games for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It fixed up a lot of the criticisms with GTA4 and interweaved the three protagonists stories together (Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz and Luis Lopez) into an interesting and satisfying experience, also offering new weapons, cars and a whole bunch of stuff to do. TLAD also requires you to be confident of your sexuality. You can buy GTA4 + TLAD and BOGT in a complete bundle called 'Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City' in retail or on Steam. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars [t]http://i.imgur.com/cz0vYwS.jpg[/t] Release: 17 March 2009 Released for the Nintendo DS, and a few months later for the PSP and iOS, it is the second game (not counting the episodic content) to be released in the HD era and follows the story of Huang Lee through Liberty City. It received impressive reviews for a handheld game. Grand Theft Auto V [t]http://i.imgur.com/Rluz8MO.jpg[/t] Release: September 17th 2013 (PS3 and 360) November 18th 2014 (PS4 and Xbox One) April 13th and 15th 2015 (PC) The fifteenth game in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series tells the stories of three playable protagonists; Michael, a former robber and troubled family man who is now living the high life in Los Santos and unsatisfied with his life, Franklin, a gangbanger who represents Chamberlain Families is looking to get out of the hood and earn himself more cash than all the awful gang related errands he runs and Trevor, Michael's former partner-in-crime, living in Blaine County way out in the sticks. The stories of the three characters intertwine frequently and outside of missions the player can freely switch between them.
Pastebin with thread for easy use for future threads.
So have there been any miracles or is GTAO still just as fucked as usual? I've been out of the loop while I play games less full of grinding, hackers, and shoddy code.
God dammit I was working on one too :( [t]http://i.imgur.com/cqWf0uf.png[/t]
So have there been any miracles or is GTAO still just as fucked as usual? I've been out of the loop while I play games less full of grinding, hackers, and shoddy code.
Most people who use trainers are getting banned(and some innocent people too), so the trainer-use has pretty much calmed down, but it's mostly the same grinding and glitchy shit still. This game is really starting to get boring for me since a lot of my friends are leaving because they're tired of Take-Two's bullshit. It's a real shame that there aren't many decent alternatives to this game.
If theres anything people want added to the OP, just let me know.
so which car got the best resale value right now? is it t20?
Most people who use trainers are getting banned(and some innocent people too), so the trainer-use has pretty much calmed down, but it's mostly the same grinding and glitchy shit still.
Oh, that's even better! :v: Time to go play real games for 4 months again.

I get the logic, price things high so people have to play the game to get the money but why price it so high that the average player can never get them? GTA:O isn't the only game I play and pricing things that high only discourages me from playing. it's what, $1m+ to modify the Sultan into the RS? fuck that.

Ayy, the outfit glitch from the video posted on the previous thread works [t]http://i.imgur.com/UvtuiM0.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/ubrRAbU.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/FEm69Nf.png[/t]
Can anyone tell me if I can or can't get that in game challenge for doing online heists in order since I jumped into the last heist with a few facepunchers? Like can I do them in order and still get it?
Shark Cards, 'nuff said.
I refuse to buy shark cards as they embody everything that is wrong with the gaming industry. I paid for the game already, why should I have to pay more so I can buy things that are stupidly overpriced in game? I have no problem paying for DLC - as long as it's proper DLC. I'm talking BIG content additions. Best example I can think of is Episodes from Liberty City. That added 2 new campaigns, new vehicles, guns and characters. I'll gladly pay for something like that as it is how DLC should be. I'm not paying real money for virtual money that I shouldn't need.
If theres anything people want added to the OP, just let me know.
a nice start would be fixing the fact that it still says Franklin is a "member of Grove Street" (he isn't) Chamberlain Families, bruh

It's honestly the same reason GTA:O feels dull to me.

Anyone played drop zone yet? Its surprisingly fun. Did the playlist yesterday, and played a team that completely failed to understand for 3 matches that sniping from a distance was not going to win them the game.
just watched broughy's latest video, man he's sure fed up with all of this he mentions something about 2 new cars being able to compete with top-tier supers, which is a blatant lie and he believes it's all about the shark cards now
tried downgrading from 1.0.7.0 to 1.0.4.0 ended up forgetting that i had to rename the game folder and my whole game went down the shitter
I would love to do some outfit glitches, does anyone want do to it? Also, good to see that online hacking stopped. I was afraid of getting banned even without using because of that, but it looks like its safe to join pubs again [sp]Unless you mind having your car blown up by assholes[/sp]

Tried doing the Sultan Upgrade with someone sat in the back when it switches from 4 door to a 2 door.
niko gets dragged into the depths of hell [vid]http://puu.sh/mQN0C/1500a79f7d.webm[/vid] send help [sp]see that red sky? this is why i tried downgrading. turns out satan tricked me into erasing Niko Bellic's world. What an asshole.[/sp]
Did a quick photoshoot with my Sultan RS. I fucking love this thing, I just wish it wasn't in the fucking supers class. I feel really bad for Broughy with this update. Anyway, here are some of the best shots. [t]http://i.imgbox.com/aYTPa8Wl.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgbox.com/4QV10amW.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgbox.com/pqE5I5IK.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgbox.com/K6PmD0Y8.png[/t] And a shot of my girl for good measure. I'm glad this trainer-made outfit has saved over the past few updates. Literally doesn't clip at all, there's no reason that these items shouldn't be able to be worn regularly. [t]http://i.imgbox.com/OgzaRQQU.png[/t]
Reposting from the previous thread because I really like these shots.
My poor attempt at making a f-ed up sultan. I'm pretty sure that a lot of people on FP are just waiting for new things nowadays I really wish to play GTA more but something about it just feels boring to keep doing Also i don't like races so a lot of content is already missing for me
just watched broughy's latest video, man he's sure fed up with all of this he mentions something about 2 new cars being able to compete with top-tier supers, which is a blatant lie and he believes it's all about the shark cards now
It's been blatantly all about the Shark Cards ever since the Ill-Gotten Gains Pt 1 update rolled out this useless fucker to drain everyone's bank accounts: I did the math; if you bought a new copy of GTA and enough Shark Cards to immediately purchase a Gold Luxor as soon as you got out of the mandatory tutorials, it would cost you $200 USD and you'd have $500k left over from the cards to go in your wallet. It's a regular Luxor with a shiny texture and two or three custom animations in a sparsely-decorated interior that the pilot (probably you, the owner) can't even see or use while flying your expensive toy, woo fucking hoo, warm up my credit card. I made this point a couple threads back, but how fucking horrible that pricing is comes into sharp focus when you compare it to the go-to punching bag for "spending shitloads on digital goods" jokes, Star Citizen. This and full game access is what $200 buys you in Star Citizen: [t]http://www.fureur.org/sites/default/files/Star%20Citizen/SC_ships/constellation_andromeda.jpg[/t] And this is what it looks like in-game right now, and you can get up and walk around it (despite the occasional bug at this point): [t]http://i.imgur.com/bWRUdyu.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/NDY15Td.jpg[/t] I'm not trying to get anyone to buy into Star Citizen at all, my point is holy shit R*/T2 are operating a Korean F2P cash shop here. If Shark Cards gave 3x as much in-game money as they do now, it'd be tolerable, but as it is now I'm fucking done with GTAO except for rare private fuck-about sessions with friends.
Not trying to turn this into a SC thread (not sure even if we have one anyway) but isn't that game still far from being done? Last time I checked ppl were whining about how the game performs on AMD rigs and someother stuff.
