With over 400 square miles of complete freedom from sky to seabed and a huge arsenal of weaponry, gadgets and vehicles, prepare to unleash chaos in the most creative and explosive ways you can imagine. Unstoppable, fearless, determined: words fail to describe Rico's character. His actions are all that matters. Where others reach their limits, Rico just begins. He doesn't hide, he doesn't crouch to cover from his enemies, he tackles any obstacle head-on and makes some noise while at it. Once faced with a challenge, nothing and no one can stop him. I'm glad that they kept the classic cowboy-esque guitar music for Rico's theme.
If this game has a good story then I'm getting a refund.
I saw an ad for it on a bus here in London. Now I'm hype. Then I saw system requirements. Now I'm not hype because I won't be able to run it. JC2 runs like absolute ass for me, that's I know for sure.
The voice acting hasn't changed much aside from Rico. [editline]shit[/editline] I was watching that 1 hour gameplay video, and thought "That's actually really damn small island, what the hell?", but around 43 minutes, I was relieved.
Yeah Medici seems more vast than what the initial trailers etc. showed. Also I didn't like Rico's new voice at first but after the 60 minutes gameplay video it started to grow on me more and more.

Damned. My processor seems to be a bit under the minimum recommendation, while the rest of my rig is exactly on the recommended specs. Should I risk it?
Preload is up for reals this time. 38.5gb
Preload is up for reals this time. 38.5gb
thats a lot of space
thats a lot of space
It actually requires 51gb, but it's compressed. So yep, definitely.
Wanted to replay JC2 to celebrate but it keeps crashing to desktop now. Why do all the games I want to revisit are CTDing!
Wanted to replay JC2 to celebrate but it keeps crashing to desktop now. Why do all the games I want to revisit are CTDing!
I would just leave it due to the fact that they'll both have similar gameplay. Wouldn't want to tire myself out before JC3 is even out.
I have high hopes for this game. I usually don't care much about the story but it looks like this time it will be better than the second game. Rico's new voice grew up on me and the fact that now he has an actual personality even makes it better. Mario is a love-able character too. Only thing that bothers me a bit is the map size, for some reason it feels smaller than JC2. Also i hope there's a giant city with skyscrapers like Panau city.

Devs have said they put a lot more effort into the verticality of JC3 though.
Oh man a JC3 thread. So hyped for this game, JC2 was easily my favorite sandbox game ever, and it seems like the sequel is addressing everything that bothered me about that game, but I do have one concern about JC3: Does anyone know if vehicles go WHOOSH while they tumble through the air? It made reckless driving in JC2 way funnier.
So I just had my mind blown. It turns out in JC2 you can steer the car while stunt jumping on top of it. Seriously, try it now. I had no idea. rico's new voice is great but what did they do to his face/hair why is his hair curly and brownish
Is Rico supposed to be Italian or what?
Is Rico supposed to be Italian or what?
personally, I understand that he is of Spanish origin.
PS4 or PC? I've got a 4690k at 3.5GHZ and a 680 GTX and 16 GB or RAM. I'm tempted to get it on PC and refund it and buy it on PS4 if I have to
Is Rico supposed to be Italian or what?

personally, I understand that he is of Spanish origin.
Somewhere from the Mediterranean, so anything goes, really.
Well, Medici is a country in the Mediterranean region, and seems like a mix of Italy, Greece and Spain. So yeah, spanish/italian/greek would be my guess.
Unrelated comment I found it mildly cool how just cause 2 comes to terms witg the fact that you are basically committing state sponsored terrorism and that you can kill civilians with no repercussions with "while regretabble, the end justify the means" (paraphrasing but its more or less the same idea)

Anyone play the first JC? It was the first game that got me into the series.
Anyone play the first JC? It was the first game that got me into the series.
I've played a bit of it after I played JC2 and it was hard to get into because of how different it was.
Anyone play the first JC? It was the first game that got me into the series.
Was pretty hard for me to get into after JC2. It was alright overall. But I couldn't stand the shopkeepers in towns yelling "PREEESOOSS PRESOOOSSS"
fuckin loved the original just cause, still play it every now and again
Stoked for this. Buying ASAP. Bomber planes, fighters with proper lock on missiles, AI that might actually be able to fight you in the air in something other than a helicopter, NAVAL DESTROYERS, amphibious armored vehicles, destructible environments and infrastructure that does more than just generically come apart when it's health bar is depleted. Also, by far the most beautiful explosions in a video game to date. The entire game feels just built around the concept of fun. And holy SHIT THEY PERFECTLY EXECUTED REBEL DROP. The vehicles and destructible variety is what sold me on the game, since those two alone are a massive improvement over the still amazing JC2. Everything else is a bonus.
