INTRODUCTION
Five Nights at Freddy's is a 2014 indie point-and-click survival horror video game developed by Scott Cawthon. The game centers on the fictional pizza restaurant Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where the player must act as a night security guard, defending themself from the malfunctioning animatronic animal characters by tracking their movement through the facility using security cameras.
The game was praised by critics for being a unique take on the survival horror genre, with a particular emphasis on its simplistic design, along with how its gameplay mechanics and aesthetics contributed to an overall feeling of fear and paranoia. Five Nights at Freddy's was the top-selling game on Desura for the week ending August 18, 2014, and the game became the subject of a number of popular "Let's Play" videos on YouTube.

I've decided to create another fnaf thread because according to new teaser fnaf sister location is coming out quite soon
So let's have fun discussing upcoming and hopefully final fnaf series game
Current teaser on Scott's website:
[t]http://www.scottgames.com/project.JPG[/t]
Secret page found by people with image of sister location's map
[t]http://www.scottgames.com/4g7n0c28jk12.jpg[/t]
Also if you brighten this image up, you can see two extra rooms
I don't think this is going to turn out well
I wont lie, I'm kind of excited for this game.
The implications of Myst-style exploration/movement, as well as the voice acting, and Scott's several new computers just to render animations and detailed stuff is kind of exciting.
Atmosphere already seems leagues above 2 and 3.
Just wanted to update thread to let you guys that game's out
Razzbowski's uploaded already gameplay vids
Hope this thread gets a little more traffic now that the game is out.
I've only gotten to night 2, and I'm refraining from watching anything on it, but it's actually pretty good so far. Keep fucking up hard in the [sp]breaker room though.[/sp]
Wow, Mark's already playing it.

Didn't even know it was released.
EGGS BENEDICT hit me way fucking harder than it should have.
I didn't expect a main-line FNAF game to provide genuine laughs like this.
Bout time this thread returned, I am far too cowardly to even watch these games so I learn about them though thread osmosis.
I'm too much of a coward to play these games. I do appreciate how it's brought about machine horror to a big audience. Blood and gore was always boring to me, but disfigured mechanical monsters are something I can get behind.
I saw the ending through some dude, [sp]I thought Baby was gonna reveal a ~sPooOOOkKKyyyy~ dead child inside of her endoskeleton at the end rather than just...scoop you up[/sp]
Started watching Markiplier's LP, that announcer and the style of humor in Sister Location reminds me so much of Portal 2.
Gosh all this talk about the humour and also whatever the mechanics are makes me genuinely want to watch them - but jumpscares.

Sister Location is lackluster when it comes to Jumpscares, most videos I have seen only have had 1-4, and those videos usually go for 30 minutes.

My looking up the mechanics also seems to suggest this, this game seems to focus far more on very tight individual scenerios rather than enduring the same thing but harder. Which frankly is exactly the kinda thing you want from a series where stagnation of mechanics is a common complaint.
I have to honestly say that this might be my favorite game so far. It's battling with FNAF 1, but it's a bit tricky to judge since it's such a different style of experience.
Also the prospect that we still haven't seen everything is exciting.
so what's the new lore on this? always enjoyed this series' lore and I am kinda interested with this new game as well.

[sp]Afton, the real name of the killer in the books, is seemingly appropriated into the games officially, plus he built animatronics that were particularly advanced. The technician you play as gets hired for maintenance on the sister location animatronics, but it seems to be essentially shocking them into compliance and disassembling them when they're not needed any more. The animatronics seem to be advanced enough to recognize this as cruel and suffering, and want to escape. Baby, however, seems to be trying to help you survive over the course of the story.[/sp]
But endgame and minigame stuff reveal [sp]that Baby apparently killed a child without even knowing why she did it, and it's heavily implied to be Afton's daughter, with a second implication being that you were playing Afton the entire time in this game. And one of the animatronics, Ennards, essentially inserts parts of itself into the others to control them, to the point that it even pretends to be Baby to lure you into a trap. Its intent is to scoop out your body's inside organs so it can put an animatronic skeleton into your body and wear you to escape, essentially, and in the standard (bad) ending, it succeeds. People theorize that Ennard in Afton's body would go on to be the Purple Guy in the rest of the series.[/sp]
what exactly implies [sp]that you play as Afton and that this is pre-FNAF? the announcer explicitly mentions the closing of Freddy Fazbear's[/sp]
[sp]I'm pretty sure this game takes place right after FNAF 4.[/sp] [sp]When you're inside the Springlock suit, Baby mentions it being sent from an old location, and that it was never used. Keep in mind how this connects to the phone-call found in FNAF 3 where phone guy mentions that the Springlocks are too dangerous, should never be used under any circumstances, and are being sent to another location while they are being looked at by our "technicians".[/sp]
[sp]Also, if the pig-tailed girl in FNAF 4's cutscenes is implied to be your daughter, she isn't dead yet in that game, meaning that she'd have to be killed between FNAF 4 and SL.[/sp]
[sp]As far as I know, with currently understood and known lore, the story should go something like:
FNAF 4 (Bite Occurs, Springlock Incidents, Restaurant Closed) > Circus Baby's Pizza open for a short period of time, as the "stage was set" from the closing of the original Fazbear's, girl is killed within first day(s?) of operation, location is closed, and the whole debacle is possibly brushed under the rug and covered up as being a "Gas Leak", as seen in the papers (notice how this event is never referenced or mentioned in-game) > Animatronics are sent to the storage facility in SL, events of SL take place as the Animatronics are only rented out now > Events of FNAF 2 take place > Events of FNAF 1 take place > Purple Guy returns years later and destroys animatronics and gets caught in Springtrap > Events of FNAF 3 take place[/sp]
[sp]There's still a lot of mysteries, such as why Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Freddy appear in FNAF 4, and then subsequently in FNAF 2 when they're withered and rotted, even though they are never seen at the FNAF 4 restaurant during the day, but are still in plush and Nightmare form. We still can't even be 100% sure that you play as Afton in SL, as he's far too human in further games, especially when it comes to being killed in the Springlock Suit and gushes blood.[/sp]

Mostly one line in night 5's [sp]secret room where Baby says the main character always comes back because "they want to see 'Me' again," although this doesn't line up with how much Afton praises Baby despite it being seemingly investigated for having killed a girl alleged to be his daughter in the beginning. For all we know, you could just be a random technician who lost his daughter to Baby and is coming there (although with how possession in this series works, and Baby's eyes turning from blue in the minigame to green like the girl's in-game, she may be in there now and that's why she tries to save you). I dunno why fans think Ennards is the Purple Guy though, and while Afton is clearly unhinged with his creations, there's nothing distinctly linking him and Purple Guy together beyond the fact that his own created Animatronics are clearly amoral and willing to kill for reasons they don't know, and the book - which was non-canon as a different interpretation of things.[/sp]
You know, if Purple Guy was physically possessed by Ennard, that woudl explain a whole lot about Springtrap. Because a human body can't possibly move an amnitronic suit very effectively - but if it was an aminatronic endoskeleton inside a human body which in turn was in a suit, it suddenly becomes a lot more plausible within the series's own logic.
Edit: On second thought, I did some scooping around on reddit and I found what I copy pasted from somewhere. Tread carefully.

Edit 2: On third thought, everything should be taken with a grain of salt seeing as how it's all revolving around theories. Afterall, it's up to the community to connect things together, which may take up a long time and given the fact that it just came out (or will come out, it's release date is rather weird right now (though it is typical of Scott to do this kind of stuff)) there's much more to figure out and piece together.
I'd really like some concrete proof as to where sister location takes place in the timeline. I think a lot of these theories are on shaky ground if we can't pinpoint that exactly
I think we might have some answers to the story. At least, a good portion of it.
All of this lines up too well, what with "Observatories", and the pathway leading right to the side-door in the original location.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Baby [sp]directly mention Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria on Night 4? If that's true then the game takes place either after FNAF 1 or in the inbewteen of FNAF 4 and 2 (before the Toy Freddy pizzeria opened)[/sp]

Man, all this new lore is crazy. I remember back when people thought that the timeline was an infinite loop of the first and second game.
I remember when the plot wasn't convoluted and stupid.

Presumably the latter. If you're part of the camp that believes [sp]Ennard becomes Purple Guy, possibly out of the same programming in him from Baby that killed the girl[/sp] then this would probably have to slot in at that point. [sp]There's also the fact using the right code in the Secret Room shows the house from FNAF4, which is either just an easter egg or shows that it may have been monitored after FNAF4's incident.[/sp]
