[B][U]Playable Characters[/U][/B] You can choose to play as a member of Starfleet (Humans, Vulcans, Bajorans, Andorians, Ferengi, Tellarites, etc.) the Klingon Defence Force (Klingons, Gorn, Nausicaan, Orion, etc.), the Romulans (Remans, Romulans) and now the 23rd Century Starfleet( Humans, Vulcans, Tellarites and the Andorians) In addition to faction and species, you must choose your career. Basically, science officers are the stat-buffers, engineering officers are good with machines and can place ground mines and turrets, and tactical officers hit hard and fast. [B][U]Combat[/U][/B] Combat is split into two main groups: Space and Ground. [U]Space:[/U] In space, you must pilot your ship to make the most of the positions of your weapons, shield strength, and other various stats. Once you are within ten kilometres of an enemy, you may open fire. Energy weapons are effective against shields while torpedoes and mines are effective against hull plating. As such, your goal is to drain the enemy shield and destroy their ship without being killed first. This is easy at first, but eventually some serious tactics come into play. Ships also have classes, each of which has its strengths and weaknesses. [U]Ground:[/U] This comes in two flavours -- standard point-and-click MMO combat and ~shooter mode~. In either you run around, use items and buffs, etc. The difference is that in shooter mode you have to aim. Got back into playing this like two days ago, more's changed than I was expecting. The juggernaut stuff in the ground specialisation tree looks pretty neat, too.

Anniversary mission coming out in 2 weeks. Some info (Spoilers if you havent done the Kobali arc) [sp] Jhet'leya/Lyndsay Ballard from the episode "Ashes to Ashes", went and retrieved Kim's Quantum Duplicate's body which has been floating in space for 30+ years from the episode "Deadlock" and turns him into a Kobali[/sp]

Does Facepunch have a fleet? If so, is it still active? I've pretty much reached the near end of the episodes and other than PVE and odd end missions, I won't have much else to do.

This is a great goddamn game. It's just a shame that in the high levels it becomes a grind the ship selection and customization, plus the user made missions is what makes me keep coming back. I love this game. Plus, it doesn't destroy all the existing story or lore like other games.... *coughtorcough*

Mirror universe? Oh man, the mirror universe ships are fucking [I]awesome.[/I] I love how cheap they are, plus their unique skin is unlocked in prime universe versions when you buy them. I might get back into the game with s11, because the last... 4? have been pretty meh.
Now that the Iconian War is over, the game story is shifting to one of rebuilding and hope. This means that yes the exploration system revamp is on the tables, but isn't coming with Season 11. They were going to have it done for S11, but sadly someone left the company and by doing so pushed back a lot of things they were going to do. Exploration was one of them.
Man, I hope that Admirality system means I'll be able to get some use out of the 10+ ships I have. Never made sense to me for the player to become an admiral and still only be able to use a single ship.
