Ultimate General: Civil War is a tactical wargame, immersing players into the bloodiest period of U.S. history, the American Civil War 1861-1865.
Choose your side, build your army and progress through multiple historical and speculative battles. This war must have only one winner... you!
“Game-Labs actively works with players. Your opinion and feedback is extremely important for making the game better. Please don't stay silent and share your voice of support or criticism on the company or steam forums.”
I've hear really really good things about the first game in the series (Gettysburg) and I've heard good stuff about this atm.
What's your take on it?
It's a pretty fun game, I tried it out but the campaigns get annoyingly grueling. No matter how hard you win the enemy just comes back with super Veteran'd units with the best equipment, that put me off personally. Not sure if it's changed in the updates since it first came out however.

Bretty gud. The AI is pretty vicious and will lead you into traps and coax you away with skirmishers
Was wondering if we were going to see a thread for this game. I've put 150 hours into it so far, it's a lot of fun.
Also they need to update the steam page because they've added Fredricksburg, Stones River, Chancellorsville, and most recently Gettysburg.

They've sorta worked around this. Each small engagement you win before a major battle will weaken the enemy in some fashion (lessened army size, weaker overall morale, worse equipment, etc)
