EXPLORE. DISCOVER. CREATE. LEGO® Worlds is a galaxy of procedurally-generated Worlds made entirely of LEGO bricks which you can freely manipulate and dynamically populate with LEGO models. Explore each World and unlock new discoveries: from cowboys and giraffes to vampires and polar bears, to steamrollers, race cars, and colossal digging machines! Use the multi-tool to shape environments and alter any World to your liking: raise the terrain to create vast mountain ranges, or enter the Brick-by-Brick editor to build anything you can imagine. Save your creations to build with them again. LEGO Worlds enables you to populate your Worlds with many weird and wonderful characters, creatures, models, and driveable vehicles, and then play out your own unique adventures. Probably not worth upsetting the Skeletons though… LEGO Worlds is currently in Early Access, so be sure to keep coming back for news on updates and plans for future development, as well as discussions with the people behind the scenes. Explore and Discover the Surprises within LEGO Worlds • Uncover hidden treasures in environments that range from the fun to the fantastical. • Make your worlds come to life with customizable characters, both friendly and fearsome • Race, soar, zoom, and ride on a variety of vehicles and creatures from diggers and helicopters to horses and dragons Create and Customize your own LEGO World • Build any world you can imagine using the brick-by-brick editor tool and prefabricated LEGO structures • Modify terrain quickly and easily with the multi-tool. • Customize your characters in a wide variety of outfits and options. • Play with a select number of real-life LEGO sets, taken from the Classic and current LEGO themes! • Export your creations and save them to use again. Expand your LEGO World • More content, features, and new LEGO play sets to be added in future updates.
LEGO World's is LEGO's somewhat delayed attempt to compete with popular sandbox building games like Minecraft, Blockland, and Roblox. The game is currently in Early Access and was released today for $14.99. The gameplay is similar to what is found in the Traveller's Tales adventures titles like Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings, but with a fully destructable and procedural environment. The video speaks for itself. Blockland for life. This is cute as fuck though. Looks more like Blockland to be honest, graphics a tad better. Let's hope it will all blend in and LEGO won't over-censor everything and actually give complete freedom to turn this into an even better game. EDIT: Saw some gameplay, I'm not really sure how sandboxy building is.
the marketing for this is non existant, is it?
Still miss LEGO Universe.
Still wish Lego City was for PC or any other console. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline] Watching an LP and I want it
it's cute, definitely won't mind giving it a try. looks like it could be fun.
Minecraft is dead.
Telltale adventures titles
Traveller's Tales
From another thread This has LDD support which is pretty neat imo. also my rig struggles to get any higher than 30fps 4gb r9 290 + FX8350. Hopefully down the line they will do some optimization.

Which is by the way an incredible shame.
Managed to just buy it today; looks fantastic, building feels really organic, combat and movement are straight out of the Traveller's Tales games, the procedural generation and general exploration is better than I have seen out of any procedurally generated world, but performance is a bit poor.

As good as the game looks like I don't see any goals, really. I mean, I get it's a sandbox game where the point of the game is for you to have fun with the tools given, and here it's the mother fucking LEGO!!! But, I wonder if the only goal will be to explore the world completely and there won't actually be anything to do aside from, well, playing with infinite interactive Lego supply like everybody(including me) wants to, because even with multiplayer, unless there are some sort of minigames available or you can make your own missions or something like that you can't really do a lot. Also, remember Indiana Jones 2 level editor? I think they should totally bring all the elements from that game here, because it's the only Lego game with level editor to date(I think) and it was incredible. Limited, but you could do a LOT of stuff - switches that linked to action blocks, character placement(including custom) and complete control over level design.
Loriborn, can you remove the steam link filter links in the OP? I messed up my steam link filter addon and redirects me to the last image. On-topic: I'm watching someone stream this, and a preliminary glance shows me it's like Minecraft with vehicles. Vehicles were a major reason I preferred Space Engineers to Minecraft. Everything in Minecraft was too static. I think I'll watch this game and see where it goes. [editline].[/editline] At least I hope you can build custom vehicles
So do you actually build with the legos or is it prefabs and terraforming?
You can build brick-by-brick in a "noclip" style editor mode, and then save it as a prefab if you'd like; as well as terraforming.
If you're interested in seeing some gameplay, Cryaotic just started streaming. http://www.twitch.tv/cryaotic
So do you actually build with the legos or is it prefabs and terraforming?
all of it
Wonder if there will be a way to play with your friends in future.

I really hope we get mod support in a TT game finally. I've been reverse engineering file formats/scripts for a long time with not much progress.
We've come a long way from:
We've come a long way from:
That game was amazing.
My work here is done. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/543028339481767965/8BC3D193C687A3360E00AB4C4B35B441DBE6F1EF/[/t]
Can you build vehicles or are they all prefabs?
Did someone say modding? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=453567281 [editline]1st June 2015[/editline] Also how to use files from lego LDD. Interestingly enough, they go in a folder called 'mods' http://steamcommunity.com/app/332310/discussions/0/615085406672780265/ In the comments someone posted a template for LDD that includes all the bricks that are in Lego Worlds. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline] Looking at user screenshots http://steamcommunity.com/app/332310/screenshots/#scrollTop=5200 there is so much I have not seen yet.

However the guide fails to mention that you CAN run the game without recompressing the archive (at least in the previous games. It does slow down your game's load time, but it's worth it to avoid compressing & decompressing with every mod). I'm very excited about the designer files being placed in a "mods" folder. Another observation, it seems their scripting format is very much the same as the previous games, with things like char_start, level_start, ability_start -> end blocks with parameters inside. This means writing parsers should be fairly simple (assuming there is no formal mod support, which again is likely due to the "mods" folder)
Is there licensed sets? I want my Star Wars that I never got as a kid. Also, is there any like, fighting, beyond hands? I saw one play through where a guy tried hitting a zombie with a car and bounced right off.
Can you build vehicles or are they all prefabs?
I also wish to know this. Anyway, i'll probably pick this up tomorrow. I loved the old Lego creator games and I liked Blockland the modding community kinda died.
That game was amazing.
Except for the constant crashes

Some Minifigs have weapons. It's been too long since we got a Lego game where everything is made of Lego, instead of some things. Been playing for a few hours now, I love it.
