A 26-year-old woman has been fined £120 after admitting swearing at paramedics and leaving a foul-mouthed note on their ambulance.
Kirsty Sharman pleaded guilty to a public order offence over the incident in which the crew had been responding to a 999 call from her nextdoor neighbour in Stoke-on-Trent.
She admitted writing the note, in which she said she “couldn’t give a shit” if the whole street collapsed, and verbally abusing paramedics.
“The fact it was directed at an ambulance crew providing a public service to a sick person. That crew should not be subject to actions such as these.”
The ambulance had been responding to a neighbour’s emergency call to assist his wife, who was “experiencing breathing difficulties”, the prosecutor Liz Ryder told magistrates.
She added the paramedics were later made aware of the note. Sharman also went into the street and abused a male paramedic, telling him: “Move your fucking van.”

What a fucking trash.
Some fucking people blow my mind. It's like they're competing in the degeneracy olympics and everyone's going for gold.

As someone feeling misfortunate enough to still be living here in the current climate, this is tragically true.

Kind of a weird thing to say to an American. We're all a bunch of self-important fuckwits ourselves after all.
I will never understand the inability of some people to be courteous to the emergency services. These are people that save lives daily, yet they have abuse hurled at them regularly. The police always get it the worst, but I remember stories of the fire brigade getting false call outs and the engines having bricks and other things thrown at them when they arrived at the scene.
All of the emergency services often go under appreciated which is a great shame. They often put themselves in harm's way to protect others and a lot of the time don't even get a decent wage for doing it. I'm glad to see this one has ended in a prosecution after it doing the rounds on social media in the last few days.
If this is how this woman is to fuckin paramedics I wonder how she is to less "important" ppl holy fuck
I'm reminded of this article I saw once about a woman with a prosthetic leg putting a note on the car who parked in her disabled parking spot and then got a reply that basically mocked her in every way possible for having a prosthetic leg.
I'm not sure which of these is worse.
There was another case similar to this one where someone left a note telling paramedics to move their ambulance, unfortunately in that instance the guy being taken to the hospital died later on. Don't think this woman should get any heavy charges but it's an incredibly shitty (not to mention selfish) thing to do. Paramedics get enough BS to deal with as is.

Urgh, if someone tried that with my fiancee's family they'd be lucky if they left with all their windows intact. Speaking from experience with people blocking driveways, there was a recent case where some gormless woman parked in front of my fiancee's drive (blocking their car in) bearing in mind that it was pretty clear that a disabled person actually fucking lived there. Annoyed at this, I shoved a note under her windscreen wipers telling her to move (there were plenty of other spaces on the road she could've used that didn't fuck people over) and another one of the family was ready to key her car if she didn't move it within the next hour (it was blocking the access of a relative who uses a wheelchair).

Like fatherland, like colony :v:
Honestly I bet the crew laughed about it more than anything, at a certain point it's comical once you realize basically 90% of the people you're dealing with are probable scum.
We picked up a dude who got his ass kicked by a bouncer whos drunk black bud was very belligerent and kept trying to climb into our ambulance which is a no no. When I got up to more or less gently "help" him out he started going off about random shit, kept putting his finger in my chest, and asked why I was "talking to him like a black man", which to this day I am completely clueless on the meaning. :v: in all honesty he's lucky he cleared off before he got in actual trouble since the PD was already there with us and they don't take kindly to assault on EMS, which that technically was.
When we got back to the station we just laughed it off, mostly. At a certain point it's just a thing. Sucks that it's that way, though.

Self-important fuckwits aren't nationality based. Some places just don't tolerate them more than others.
And some run the country.

Not to mention her handwriting needs work. First time I read the message, I was wondering who the fuck she thought she was telling people they 'did not have the right to be dorked here'
Screw you lady, I can dork wherever the fuck I want, as can the ambulance!
the first sentence of that note makes no sense.

"If you're not here for me (she lives in Number 14 house I guess) - then you shouldnt be parked here"

This type of aggression and lack of empathy towards people "wronging" you is exactly the mechanism that causes our self centered nature. Sure, its rude to park in handicapped spots, but you throw all decency out the window for what really just amounts to just yet another excuse to feel just in wronging others
How did I know this was a UK thread before clicking it
I guess my brain just saw someone being a cunt with something as pathetic as leaving a note on an ambulance and filled in the blanks.

So somebody is being an unjustifiable asshole for petty reasons, but you're the bad guy if you're bothered by it?

So you're saying I should be empathic towards someone who (in the hypothetical situation which leaves them open to getting their car damaged) mocks a family member for having a serious mobility-impairing disability?
Parking in disabled space is one thing, sure - annoying but generally not worth resorting to violence over. But in the example I gave before, this person was needlessly blocking my fiancee's family car inside their own drive which meant they couldn't get out. Bearing in mind it's pretty obvious that someone with a disability lives there since there's handrails all along the specifically paved path. Obviously if this were the case of an ambulance blocking the drive there wouldn't be a problem, her mum used to be a nurse so more than anyone else she has an understanding of how shitty it can be.
So The Sun is a garbage paper, but boy do they work quick.

People who do shit like this should be punished the same way as people who prank-call/falsely call emergency services imo.
This is the same kind of bitch that would probably sue the state because they took 5 minutes to get to her house because she fell and scraped her knee
Come on, you don't fuck with fire fighters, police, and least of all paramedics. It could be you in the back of one 10 minutes later
But wait, why would-
