The fumes caused the men to pass out and subsequently die from inhaling fecal gases.
Talk about a shitty way to go.
And that's why you have to understand that sometimes possessions aren't really worth your life. You can always buy another phone if you're still alive, but if you and two other buggers wind up dead trying to recover a phone, it didn't do you any good did it?
They probably just weren't aware of the dangers
Danger or not, I wouldn't wade in a pool of literal shit to get my phone.
They probably just weren't aware of the dangers
It says the women who dropped the phone hired two men to fish it out. After they passed out, a doctor came over, and ALSO passed out inside the tank trying to retreive them.
Wouldn't the phone have had been destroyed due to water damage anyway?
I remember there was this other story where a whole family died from shit gas in a barn in US or something
How'd they even flush the phone in the first place? Did they drop it in there without noticing?
How'd they even flush the phone in the first place? Did they drop it in there without noticing?
Could be one of those advanced 'village hole-in-the-floor deluxe' toilets, or maybe a porta-potty [editline]uhh[/editline] Now that I think of it, it would have to be one huge ass porta-potty :v:
How'd they even flush the phone in the first place? Did they drop it in there without noticing?
Obviously they did notice they dropped it in when flushing else they wouldn't have gone to look for it :v:
Could be one of those advanced 'village hole-in-the-floor deluxe' toilets, or maybe a porta-potty
I absolutely wouldn't doubt its that.
I remember there was this other story where a whole family died from shit gas in a barn in US or something
That happens kind of regularly. Toxic invisible gas pits are a pretty easy hazard to fall to.
Hydrogen sulfide would have killed them rather quick.
I remember there was this other story where a whole family died from shit gas in a barn in US or something
I think there was also one where rotting potatoes killed multiple people going into an unventilated cellar. [editline]edit[/editline] It happened in Russia in 2014, four victims and the only one who survived was the family's 8 year old daughter who found them :frown:
I remember there was this other story where a whole family died from shit gas in a barn in US or something
It was actually a waste "pond" at a pig farm, one of them passed out near it and they just kept running in one after the other to save each other. And by "it" I mean this is actually very common. Happens more often than you'd think.

Didn't this also happen to a Chinese family after they lost an iPhone in a similar situation, and basically the entire family died.
Didn't this also happen to a Chinese family after they lost an iPhone in a similar situation, and basically the entire family died.
Not sure if this is what you're thinking of, but a Russian family was almost entirely wiped out by potato smells in their basement, save for a single daughter
Didn't this also happen to a Chinese family after they lost an iPhone in a similar situation, and basically the entire family died.
AYE! It was poland! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/poland/10973779/Seven-drown-in-septic-tank-on-Polish-pig-farm.html Well, not exactly. A guy passed out cleaning it.

You can always buy another phone if you're still alive, but if you and two other buggers wind up dead trying to recover a phone, it didn't do you any good did it?
It just looks like a tank with crap in it. Here's how it went down. Guy goes in to get his phone. Passes out. Second goes in after him to see if he's okay. Passes out. Third goes to help the other two. Passes out. All three suffocate to death. This isn't a new phenomena with methane and other invisible, heavier than air gasses that just form pools with no oxygen. Same exact scenario happens quite often. That's why the first thing all first responders are taught before they approach an unconscious victim to provide aid is to size the scene up and assess if whatever caused the injury is gone.
Gasses that cause nausea, headaches and induce the gag reflex are also noxious? Who would've thought.
Wait, isn't there a video of some dude bathing in a septic tank?
The fumes caused the men to pass out and subsequently die from inhaling fecal gases.
Honestly that never would have crossed my mind. Thank god I don't go around diving in septic tanks looking for phones.
Gas and smoke are dangerous stuff, most people killed in burning buildings get trapped and die from smoke inhalation before they even get burned.
I meant I didn't know septic tanks had gases inside them. Yeah I'm an idiot and should have done my research. Biogas septic tanks are a thing.
