The incident took place after a group of dissident officials entered Fort Paramacay in Valencia at about 5:00 a.m. led by GNB captain Juan Caguaripano, who identified himself as commander of the operation "David Carabobo." sent a message to Venezuelans from the premises of the Bolivarian Army's 41st Armored Brigade located in the Parish of Naguanagua of the locality. "We declare ourselves in legitimate rebellion, united today more than ever, with the brave people of Venezuela, to ignore the murderous tyranny of Nicolás Maduro. Let us clarify that this is not a coup d'état. This is a civic and military action to restore constitutional order. But even more, to save the country from total destruction, to stop the murders of our youth and family, "said Caguaripano, who has been wanted since 2014 to support the dissident movement" La Salida ". According to the Region of Central Integral Defense, the first victim was male, skin white, thin, and was approximately 24 years old. The second person had white skin, at least 50 years and was thin. Both are yet to be identified. Staff of the Scientific and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC) handle the case "as insurrection, rebellion and treason". According to the scientific police, a group of people wearing military garments and firearms of different caliber burst into the military unit in order to be seized and seized of the military arsenal.
[t]http://imgs.notitarde.com/Imgs/2017/08/cbf7464b-b5fb-4e80-9aad-86e43f407964.jpg[/t] http://www.el-nacional.com/noticias/politica/militares-carabobo-declaran-rebeldia-contra-del-gobierno_197390 https://www.lapatilla.com/site/2017/08/06/dos-muertos-dejo-enfrentamiento-en-la-41-brigada-blindada-del-ejercito-en-carabobo/ https://maduradas.com/tienen-miedo-siete-militares-detenidos-en-ataque-al-fuerte-paramacay-06ago/ Fun facts The captain of the National Guard who coordinated the uprising was being wanted by the security forces since 2014
According to newspaper reports, Caguaripano had been hunted by officers of the Military Counterintelligence Directorate (Dgcim) in 2014, but had allegedly escaped to Miami. However, this Sunday surprised everyone, including the same regime, by appearing with retired officers and active calling an uprising in all military detachments of the country.
I have no idea if this belongs to Polidicks But this just happened or is happening right now, the situation is very confusing I asked a friend, who lives there, and he has no idea too is too confusing. Some mention that the incident was controlled, however, several report that it is a lie and is continuing, And also, the most horrendous translation (I will try to fix it)
I have confirmation that the rebellion at Fort Paramacay was quelled, the insurgent troops are currently in hiding. I also have confirmation that it isn't an isolated event, and there are more uprisings going on. I'll keep the thread updated once I know more.
Goodluck and godspeed to the rebellion.
Rise children of Venezuela, and send Maduro and his cronies to hell!
Goodluck and godspeed to the rebellion.
I want to say the same but I fear it'll be disorganized and unready, either being crushed immediately or spiraling into a decades long fight between Generalissimos A, B and all the way to Z.
I hope they make this quick and as bloodless as possible. It's about time something like this happened, I hope it just works out for the best and doesn't trade one dictatorship for another.
Elcard and Big Bang, what exactly are you expecting to happen? I'm asking since you both have the best picture of the situation over there
Elcard and Big Bang, what exactly are you expecting to happen? All of the sources I have are from Twitter, and it's hard to independently verify their accounts. As of now, I have no reason to believe there will be any further action going on today. We'll have to wait for tomorrow, see if any more insurrections pop up. This is personally quite worrying for me, as my parents are expected to fly out of the country for good this Thursday. They just need the country to hold together for 4 more days so they can escape.

If you want an effective mutiny, you want it to start in the upper ranks, preferably among the commanders of maneuver formations. The higher up, the better. Otherwise it's just a bunch of deserters starving in the woods or holed up in residential areas, likely without weapons, ammunition or support. At best, they'd become instructors for a popular insurgency.
Update: It is reported military dissidents commander from Juan Caguaripano managed to subtract several weapons of the arms depot And some of them managed to escape (All security forces are in high alert and looking for those who escaped) It is rumored that stolen guns were 100 AK-103 assault rifles, 106 Hand grenades M252 M224 and M120 mortars Mk 19 grenade launcher M2 Browning .50 Cal
The National Armed Forces confirmed in a statement the theft of weapons and announced that the rebels are wanted by state security agencies.
http://www.el-nacional.com/noticias/politica/caguaripano-grupo-sustrajeron-parque-armas-del-cuartel-paramacay_197416
Here's hoping this ends better than the Ankara siege.
Shouldn't realy be that hard, unless this is also a staged coupe d'etat.

They could actually do some damage with that, assuming they managed to get their hands on ammo and they play things smart.

-ehh, let the replies be the only legacy of this horrible comment-
If your vocation is to obey and be faithful to this tyranny that kills children, who steals, kills and humiliates on your pepole.... Consider yourself a military target And assumes the consequences
If this leaflet is aimed at civilians - that does not bode well. I understand it's tremendously stupid to support the government as a Venezuelan citizen but this is pretty severe.
Lucky, I wish we had this many balls. Though I do understand the situation in Venezuela is a hell of a lot worse than here.
jesus christ dude Trump is bad but not fucking armed rebellion bad.
Lucky, I wish we had this many balls. Though I do understand the situation in Venezuela is a hell of a lot worse than here.
the best part of this post is i don't know if you're left or right hahahaha
Lucky, I wish we had this many balls. Though I do understand the situation in Venezuela is a hell of a lot worse than here.
The balls to join your local government and make a difference? That's very noble! Forreal tho dude get some perspective. Sure trump is the literal antichrist and all according to most non-right leaning news outlets and forums but has he shut down your place of work? Instituted policies that negated the US Bill of Rights? Constitution? Ruined the entire economy? Are the police aggressively and violently putting down protests? Get a grip, make a difference the right way.
If this leaflet is aimed at civilians - that does not bode well. I understand it's tremendously stupid to support the government as a Venezuelan citizen but this is pretty severe.
To be fair, many policemen and colectivos (Pretty much state-sponsored gangs) are treating other citizens, protesters or not, with extreme violence, and getting away with it.
Lucky, I wish we had this many balls. Though I do understand the situation in Venezuela is a hell of a lot worse than here.
Man I fucking hate Trump and believe he is dangerous to the US, but christ... at-least even the poor in the States CAN mostly go to bed with their stomachs full. You really should get some perspective. Reminds me a little (though it's not been as bad) about the whining I hear about how Ireland is... despite us being the 6th best place in the world to live...
Why does it seem many young socialists only seem to care about whether a regime opposes american neoimperialism? I keep seeing this- as long as a middle finger is given to the US, they'll brush over rampant authoritarianism and human right violations. It's taking 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' to farcical extremes. It's not hard to admit authoritarianism and neoimperialism are both shit.

Once you realize that people choose labels not because it's the most accurate word to describe their beliefs and motivations, but because they think it's the label that will bring greatest success, all kinds of shit makes a whole lot more sense.
Sorry for not showing more updates (blame my stupid internet) The Weapons and those who take part of uprising that escaped are still on the loose, all security forces are doing massive search and intelligence services made some raids even raiding a nun's house (nobody has any idea why raiding a nun's house), still the number of weapons stolen is still unclear, some that was what I mentioned above, some that were only assault rifles and grenade launchers, others were assault rifles and grenades (Possibly the military justice authorities are trying everything to avoid disclosure) Also, An abandoned SUV from Venezuelan Army was found today with some gear, weapons parts and kits, flags, papers, uniforms, etc. The news and police report that was allegedly used to carry weapons during assault/Was used as an escape vehicle found with some gear [t]http://www.caraotadigital.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/autoparamacay.jpg[/t][t]http://cdn.800noticias.com/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/2017-08-07-PHOTO-00000004-800x450.jpg[/t]
Why would they abandon it with gear inside if the purpose was to steal weapons and gear?

Their views are so skewed they can't possibly fathom why someone who's starving would have other priorities than "fight imperialism". They also think they can see into the future and can predict a right wing dictator taking power, in a way that it produces a state that to them sound horrible, without realising that current conditions under Maduro are much worse.
