Retro did drop the ball w/ metroid prime 3 imo so they really arent an indicator of a good metroid game or not.

Sure, it wasn't remarkable as the first Metroid Prime, but believe it, it's in no shape or form a bad game. That crown goes to Other M. Corruption is still a great game!
Kensuke Tanabe was the Co-Producer of Prime 1, and producer of prime 2 and 3, and had nothing to do with Other M; so I remain optimistic.

The whole run from 1 planet to another over and over and more of a focus on the novelty of the wiimote rlly didnt sit well with me

You seem to have dropped your "Metroid Prime Hunters".
Hopefully they port the previous games to the switch too, even the Wii exclusive one. Doesn't the motion sensor on the switch controllers pretty much replaces the need for a sensor bar from the wii?
