But instead of getting the three-headed monster to spin on the spot, all they could manage was a series of ever-increasing circles as the motors worked against themselves. "You saw it yourself. It looks like a real spinner. We didn't get the crazy spinning, as the cars started to break down," one of the team said. "But still we managed to drive three cars at once." Previous experiments by the Garage 54 group, who have nearly 700,000 subscribers on YouTube following their escapades, include a "CatDog" where they welded two cars together. The spinner, they say, was the logical conclusion to this by adding a third. But the car was short-lived, the Garage 54 video on YouTube - now viewed over 600,000 times - shows the "Russian spinner" being torn apart with the help of a tow-rope attached to an SUV. Of course it won't spin. There's no axis. It's just three (half)cars all trying to go a different way.
all of them should had gone the Right direction.
Looks like something i'd do in gmod
Title should emphasize the fact that they tried, they didn't do it
This is why Hitler lost
That seemed really half-assed lmao
I read the title as three ladies, this isn't as exciting to me.
Looks like something i'd do in gmod
and then have it crash the server when the props slightly collided in the wrong way
Of course it won't spin. There's no axis. It's just three (half)cars all trying to go a different way.
What it needs is an instantaneous centre of rotation, which would be dead centre of the three ladas. What they've got are three rotation centres roughly in the gaps between each vehicle, all working against each other. They could in theory mod the front axle such that the wheels could point across an entire 180 degree arc, but I'm not even sure ackermann drives ever do that. Either that or get some bloody massive engines to overcome the friction with sheer raw torque.
I never thought I'd hear future funk in a Russian video about welding cars together.
For some reason that thumbnail really reminds me of James May's limo made of the front ends of a SAAB 9000 and an Alfa Romeo 164.
all that effort and they couldn't even coordinate to have all their wheels turned the same direction
