ST. LOUIS (AP) — A white professor at a predominantly black university in St. Louis was fired “because of the color of her skin,” a state appeals court ruled Tuesday.
A three-judge panel of the Missouri Court of Appeals affirmed a 2015 jury verdict that awarded nearly $5 million to Beverly Wilkins, a former professor at Harris-Stowe State University.
“Rarely have we seen such manifest and open evidence of racial discrimination,” the appeals court ruling said.
It is nice to see discrimination being properly addressed regardless of the color of someone's skin.
The article makes it sound like a really simple case, what with the defendant destroying evidence and all. It's a shame that "black people can be racist too" has somehow become controversial.

This made it to appeals? What was the verdict in the trial court?

The Institutional Racism argument has essentially created a stunted and malignant dialogue surrounding what it means to be racist, since, and I'm roughly paraphrasing the dozen times I've nearly blammed bile in to someone's face while hearing it in person, "Blacks and other minorities cannot be considered racist because they have no institutional power."

I can't imagine what it feels like to hear someone say this unironically in person.

Saying black people can be racist is racist.

It feels like your brain is gonna explode, my sister has said this kind of shit on multiple occasions both online and offline, needless to say I was both speechless and fucking astounded that she actually believed that shit.
