The whole thing is because there's been in influx in TF2 of "catbots" multiple bot players running on linux pcs with aimbot and such.
edit: posted this here because it's sort of related to that thread of VAC banning Linux users based on their username, which turned out to be a hoax.
edit2: Not just TF2, was a general Linux VAC authentication bug which has been fixed.

I thought in that thread VAC was banning people, not just kicking, hold on let me check.
edit: yeah this is just kicking while that hoax was bout VAC bans.
