Future games, including Sea of Thieves, will be available via subscription on the same day they’re available to purchase at retail stores or through the Microsoft Store. “The number one request from our customers... was to get new blockbuster games into Game Pass,” explains Microsoft’s games chief, Phil Spencer, in an interview with The Verge. Sea of Thieves will be the first title available on launch day, March 20th, through the Xbox Games Pass, and that will “follow through with State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, and the rest of our portfolio,” says Spencer. “Not just those games, but our future Halos, our future Gears of War, future Forzas, and other games. Our plan is to launch those to our Game Pass subscribers at the same time they go to retail.” Xbox Game Pass launched back in June, and provides access to more than 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games for $9.99 per month. Microsoft is also launching a six-month subscription for $59.99 for gamers who want to pay the cost up front. While the news of Microsoft’s first-party games coming on launch day to Xbox Game Pass will be welcomed by Xbox fans, many will question Microsoft’s commitment to first-party games in the wake of canceled titles and shuttered studios. “We’ll continue to invest more and more into first party,” says Spencer. “The fact that those first-party games will launch into Game Pass just gives our customers more choice in how they get to play those games.” It’s not clear when we’ll see those investments materialize into solid first-party offerings, though. Xbox Game Pass is also limited to the Xbox games console right now, and PC gamers can’t access a range of games that are cross-platform and available as part of Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere initiative. “I have been on public record saying I want people to play the games they play on the devices they want to play them on,” says Spencer. “So stay tuned. We’re not announcing anything today other than our biggest games will launch on retail date into Game Pass, but I like your thinking.”
That's a pretty fucking good deal honestly.
That's pretty neat, despite the fact that I've pretty much given up on Halo and Gears of War.
A year of game pass is 120$ so 2/3 new releases would easily pay for it -wrong info snipped-

kinda weird that it keeps telling me i can get gamepass on the win 10 store when i look at games on there then. [t]https://i.imgur.com/REGgvlL.png[/t]
wasn't even aware that a new Halo was being worked on after the failure of 5's SP component.
wasn't even aware that a new Halo was being worked on after the failure of 5's SP component.
Serious? Halo is the only game they have making bank, they will always make those. Plus multiplayer is bigger than SP. [editline]23rd January 2018[/editline]

It says i can play Gears right now with Game Pass so i think its live.

If you buy Gears of War 4 on the Windows store you can also play it on the Xbox One, so it's likely there are people using the Windows store to buy games for their Xbox.
wasn't even aware that a new Halo was being worked on after the failure of 5's SP component.
microsoft made halo the simpsons of videogames
wasn't even aware that a new Halo was being worked on after the failure of 5's SP component.
in all fairness, the worst halo game will still make a profit. with that said, this doesn't surprise me at all.
microsoft made halo the simpsons of videogames
I thought that was call of duty?

So if you went onto an Xbox and bought the Game Pass, you could play Gears 4 on Windows. It could make them more money so I don't really see why they aren't doing it.
wasn't even aware that a new Halo was being worked on after the failure of 5's SP component.
Honestly the problem with 343's Halo is that they come and go so quick that just no one fucking talks about them. There's nothing outstanding anymore, it's just cookie-cutter generic shooters. It's a dated series, and it kills me to say that since I adore the original trilogy, but it should have ended years ago. Reach was great but you could tell that it started the trend of turning the series towards more mainstream first person shooter mechanics.
I wish they could just end the franchise. Halo Reach was the last good Halo game. Now you got people working on the franchise who have no clue what they're doing.
Naw, Halo 3 was the last good halo game. Every one since has been unoriginal trash and shows pretty well that 343 is creatively bankrupt. [editline]24th January 2018[/editline] Honestly gamepass right now sucks. Theres like 3 good games out of the 100 or so on there. Not really worth the $10 a month.

Halo 2 was the last good Halo game. The moment it went completely exclusive was the same moment where it was stuck on a platform that couldn't reach 30FPS at 720p native, had no M&K support, and was a disgustingly bad, unfixable FOV. Shame, too, because 3 had all the cool shit from the series in one game before the downhill slope that ended in floating gun bits that come apart for no fucking reason why did you do this 343 the covenant guns were cool and the human guns were chill so there was a solid base to work off of but this shit is just bad I don't want to use them
Naw, Halo 3 was the last good halo game.
Halo Reach and ODST say otherwise.
Halo Reach and ODST say otherwise.
Terrible stories, armor lock, perks. 'Nuff said.
Terrible stories, armor lock, perks. 'Nuff said.
Good stories.
Good stories.
Did you honestly think Reach had a good story? The whole story was completely inconsequential to the overall plot of the Halo universe It broke canon and forced authors of lorebooks to rewrite them. The whole campaign was just dumb and you could see the depthless characters getting killed off from miles away. Honestly dood, I don't think youre capable of disliking any media whatsoever. Every discussion youre apart of, you defend universally bad content.
Did you honestly think Reach had a good story?
Yes. Also Bungie controlled the canon at the time, they can retcon whatever the hell they want.
Yes. Also Bungie controlled the canon at the time, they can retcon whatever the hell they want.
Sure they did, but why force like 5 books to retcon for some inconsequential story that goes against the backstory of the very first game?
