• Spyro Trilogy Remaster (Possibly) Coming to PS4 This Year
According to multiple sources familiar with the project, Activision is currently working on a Spyro the Dragon Trilogy Remaster, which will be announced in March 2018 and released in Q3 2018. The trilogy remaster will, much like the highly successful Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, feature new assets, lighting, animations and cinematics, as well as a remastered soundtrack. It will also feature updates to the save feature, much like occurred in the Crash remaster (which replaced the original games' password feature with something much more user friendly). The remaster will include Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage!, and Year of the Dragon, and there is the tantalising promise of some content cut from the original releases of those games. Fuck yeah, boyyy
Laura K rumors, take it with plenty salt.
Laura K rumors, take it with plenty salt.
didn't she accurately leak switch info? or am i remembering wrong
Replayed these a while back on PC with an emulator, the gameplay holds up perfectly to this day. 100%'d the 3 games in a week or two, it was incredible fun.
didn't she accurately leak switch info? or am i remembering wrong
She vomits garbage day and day out. She was the one that Eurogamer sourced the "leak" of Pokemon Stars for Switch, and it ended up being Ultra Sun and Moon for the 3DS. She also said Mother 3 was coming to the Wii U eShop. I know there's more but I can't keep all the leaks straight.
I'll keep an eye out if more sources substantiate it. This year also is the 20th anniversary of spyro so if they were going to make an announcement, now would be an appropriate time to do so
didn't she accurately leak switch info? or am i remembering wrong
Yeah, and some of it turned out to be true, like the Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle game. Many other things turned out to be false, including a whole mess of release dates, some games and the new Beyond Good and Evil 2 being a Switch exclusive. I'm not saying everything she says should be disregarded, but her history of leaks is very mixed, and saying "multiple sources" with no concrete sources isn't grounds for anything.
This is just what i've wanted for so many years.
Considering how much of a hit the Crash remasters were, you'd think they'd jump on doing Spyro. The two practically go together, it'd make sense to remaster the Spyro games.
This is just further solidifying my need to get a PS4. It just has the best exclusives.
I like this side of Activision.
OH MY FUCKING GOD. With this and Medievil remaking coming I'm just about all set to relive my childhood. Spyro 2 is legit one of my favourite games of all time. I try to at least do 1 full 100% playthrough of it every year.
Can we not title rumor threads as if it's a 100% confirmed fact?
Good lord I can't even recall the amount of times I've played Spyro 3, I think this is what is gonna tip me over to buy a PS4.

I'm afraid they'll mess up the artstyle with the upgrade in graphical fidelity like they did when the series moved to the ps2. That game looked like ass. Maybe it's just me (and I've brought this up too many times) but I feel like the dated graphics of the originals are too integral to the artstyle they used back in the day, and I'd always pick them over some up-res'd textures and lighting and fur effects. Also I think the Medevil remaster is just a re-release of the vita version up-res'd with the same treatment so yeah.
"rumoured to come to ps4"
Can we not title rumor threads as if it's a 100% confirmed fact?
that's my bad, I copied the title from the original article but meant to add a (probably) and then when I realized i forgot to add it it was too late to change the title :s:
what if it will look like Skylanders Spyro
Sued for emotional trauma.

I'm just hyped to hear some Spyro news that isn't that skylanders ballshit.
God....I've been screaming for this ever since I heard about the N Sane Trilogy. Got even more optimistic for the idea once I heard other remasters were on the horizon and N Sane Trilogy sold incredibly well. I really REALLY hope that this is true. I would love an excuse to play a HD Spyro Trilogy.
what if it will look like Skylanders Spyro
Don't you even dare say that you monster. I am not kidding I would buy a console for this if it turns out to be real. I love all 3, but Spyro 3 was the first ever game I finished, first ever game I 100+%, first ever game I threw a controller in rage. Nostalgia goggles my ass I want to be that kid again...

Oh shit please let this be real
what if it will look like Skylanders Spyro
Ah yes, everyone's favorite version of Spyro
I mean, this does have merit in my heart. IIRC N. Sane had a "feature" where, if you pressed the right combination of buttons on the main menu, a sound would play. That combination was, coincidentally, the same one that would launch a Spyro demo in the Crash Warped.
Can we please get an Ape Escape trilogy?

Even if this doesn't happen, going back to the originals is pretty painless. The controls and gameplay hold up really well, and the graphics have aged tremendously for PS1 games.
