The Turkey Blocks monitoring network has verified restrictions affecting the Wikipedia online encyclopaedia in Turkey. A block affecting all language editions of the website detected at 8:00AM local time Saturday 29 April. The loss of availability is consistent with internet filters used to censor content in the country.
Certain subdomains remained partially available on ISP TTNet at the time of writing, while the restriction appears to by fully implemented on Uydunet, Turkcell and other fixed line and mobile service providers.
Information and Communication Technologies Agency (BTK) is just another corrupt organization that belongs to the islamofascist govt that blocks websites as they wish without any court decision.

One of the more brazen examples of a blossoming dictatorship in my lifetime i think.
My friend is from Turkey, I'm afraid if this keeps up I'll lose contact with her.
Didn't they continue to vote for this asshole' I'd say they brought it on themselves.

I'd say they probably voted as much for this asshole as the Russians voted Putin.

People don't always have the best pre-emptive judgement.
See: America's most recent presidential election, on both sides because it's not like either candidate was decent.

Dude seriously it might look like we are turning into a second north korea, but its not that bad right now. Probably there's like 20 years tops.

North Korea? Seems a bit far away, and too communistic. Maybe more like a Sunni Iran? Heck if I know; just know North Korea doesn't seem apt.

[sp]The whole game of MGS2 is about censoring the media, the group behind it have used nanomachines to make it impossible to say their name, only coming out as la li lu lei lo[/sp]
I'm possibly going to Instanbul for work next month
And for a holiday in another part of Turkey in July.
Wish me luck :v:

My biggest concern about the holiday is that I'm going with gfs parents.

Russia fell a lot faster, but it looked less tragic because Russia has almost no history with democracy and the country was in really bad shape.

"The Patriots planned to extend their control down to the civilian level, actively controlling and censoring people through nanomachines, such as the nickname "La-li-lu-le-lo." In this case, members of "the system" were under the Patriots' direct influence could not even mention the name "the Patriots" and were forced by their nanomachines to say the codename."

That's a pretty specific subset of MGS2. As a whole it was about information control.
As a whole it was about information control.
thats exactly what turkey's doing right now tho
not to mention you pretty much DO control information by limiting access to it

I was trying to not spoil anything too important because it's really worth a play on your own terms rather then have people explain the entire plot.
