• Dan Aykroyd Blasts 'Ghostbusters' Director Paul Feig
The star of the original movie said Feig, who helmed the 2016 reboot, spent too much, making a sequel economically unfeasible. Taking aim at director Paul Feig, Dan Aykroyd said Sunday that there will be no sequel to last year’s Ghostbusters reboot because Feig spent too much money shooting the film and that “he will not be back on the Sony lot anytime soon.” Appearing on the morning talk show Sunday Brunch on Britain’s Channel 4, Aykroyd, who co-wrote and starred in the original 1984 Ghostbusters and is credited as an executive producer on the remake, didn’t mention Feig by name, but said, “The director, he spent too much on it and he didn’t shoot scenes we suggested to him. Several scenes that were going to be needed, he said, ‘No, we don’t need them.’ And then we tested the movie and they needed them, and he had to go back — about $30 to $40 million in reshoots.”
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/dan-aykroyd-blasts-ghostbusters-director-paul-feig-he-will-not-be-back-sony-lot-anytime-soon-1010055?utm_source=twitter
Feig deserves to get blasted on, he's a dick.
Did the "don't say anything bad about our shit movie we strong-armed you into appearing in" contract expire?
Did the "don't say anything bad about our shit movie we strong-armed you into appearing in" contract expire?
He was one of the producers so I doubt he was part of that and he certainly wasn't going to badmouth the project while it had a chance to make money in theaters.
Paul Feig is fucking creepy
Did the "don't say anything bad about our shit movie we strong-armed you into appearing in" contract expire?
Wasn't that supposedly Bill Murray?
Wasn't that supposedly Bill Murray?
Ohh yeah, they threatened the shit out of Bill Murray to get him to support the movie. Honestly, Bill Murray kinda seems like he just wants to be left alone these days. He almost always looks miserable infront of the camera recently.
Ghostbusters 2016 is the perfect symbol of what the movie industry today is a fucking joke that should be aborted [editline]4th June 2017[/editline] and then thrown into some dumpster fire

As far as I recall in the e-mails they only hinted they would "lawyer up" to get him to be in the film. I mean it sure seems they did it eventually, since Murray appeared in the film and phoned in his performance; but was there ever anything concrete?
Why does every headline about a grievance between two parties nowadays involve the terms "blast" or "slam" Don't know why Dan even helped with this production. The cast has no personality and is solely defined by "I have a vagina".
Because if it said "Dan Aykroyd Speaks Negatively about 'Ghostbusters' Director Paul Feig" then the majority would probably find it too technical and not fun enough.

He was the one out of everyone who wanted to make another movie just because he loves the idea so much.
I don't care what anyone things about Dan Aykroyd, the dudes a genius and it sucks that he has to see something he helped create basically be destroyed in a manner like this [editline]5th June 2017[/editline] tbh I'd hire the dude
All I want is an Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd written Ghostbusters sequel. A Proper one
All I want is an Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd written Ghostbusters sequel. A Proper one
I think it's too late tbh. I mean, Harold Ramis is dead, Bill Murray DEFINITELY isn't going to do another one after the remake, there's not much of a point. It should have been done like 20 years ago. On the bright side though, we have the game.

It'll always be the unofficial official Ghostbusters 3 to me
fyi, if you actually read the interview, he praises the movie. he said it's as good, if not better than the originals. his literal only gripe is that they spent too much money, causing it to be a commercial failure.

You said Ghostbusters 2016 is the perfect symbol of the industry today. Are you sure about that, because The Emoji Movie seems to be worse.

Hit me up, you know this idea is the perfect storm
whenever i see you post i always expect a melodramatic tirade and i'm never dissapointed fucking shoot this fucking movie in the face shit fuck abortion
bonus points if you use a coat hanger and throw it in a dumpster fire filled with toothpicks never-ever-also-melodramatic posts I mean if its something we have in common its being drama-whores, we're exceedingly good at this [editline]5th June 2017[/editline] You literally cannot say no to an argument and neither can I
Did the "don't say anything bad about our shit movie we strong-armed you into appearing in" contract expire?
He produced the movie but IIRC Sony and Feig shafted him like he says in the article. The movie he expected was radically different than the movie he got. [editline]5th June 2017[/editline]
someone must have put a gun to his head because even an insane man wouldn't praise this movie without force
It's a powerful little thing called denial
<----- this is dan aykroyd sponsored pure vodka
All I want is an Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd written Ghostbusters sequel. A Proper one
We already have the true sequel And we also have a well done new crew
And here I was thinking that what bombed the movie was the fact that they wrote and marketed the movie towards a niche audience that doesn't actually give a shit about movies like Ghostbusters.
Imagine how much money they would have made if they got the right directors, actors, script, etc on board and hyped it the right way but instead the biggest thing they had for themselves is "if you're against this movie you HATE WOMEN" [editline]5th June 2017[/editline] It could have easily been one of the biggest movies when it comes to financial returns maybe not the biggest, but it would have helped them out of the financial issues they had, it would have eliminated audience mistrust for a while All they needed to do was what happened with Deadpool... stay out of the directors way and let the movie happen on its own. it wouldn't have had to have been that good, it'd have still sold itself.
