Network: FOX Timeslot: Thursdays, 9PM EST Genre: Mystery, Drama, Sci-fi Executive Producer: M. Night Shyamalan Starring: Matt Dillon, Shannyn Sossamon, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo No. of Seasons: 1 No. of Episodes: 10 Online: FOX | IMDB Premise: Adapted from the novels of Blake Crouch, the show features Matt Dillon as Secret Service agent Ethan Burke, who is assigned to investigate the disappearance of agents Bill Evans and Kate Hewson in the titular town, a small, sleepy, remote community in the mountains of Idaho. Upon taking the case, Ethan is caught in a sudden car accident. He awakes from a coma alone in the Wayward Pines Hospital, tended to by a sly and unsettlingly charming nurse. Under surveillance and unable to contact his family or his office, Ethan quickly surmises that the town holds a host of frightening and terrible secrets, guarded closely by a brash, ruthless sheriff. The only thread shown by the search was in regards to Garry's Mod mapping, so I made this one. This show has just recently begun to take off, becoming something of a sleeper hit. Shyamalan does not appear to disappoint--every episode reveals more, and soon major questions are answered in a no-nonsense manner, providing respite from the standard mystery stories that drag viewers along for seasons without addressing the biggest queries (see: LOST). The sixth episode just aired tonight and unveiled some seriously satisfying but puzzling chunks of information. Hopefully more Facepunchers are watching this show, or will be soon, if the TV analysts are right. Please discuss. As the first season is still airing: Remember to use spoilers for anything past the pilot episode.
so...is this any good? Is anyone here following it?
Sounds like a Twin Peaks wannabe tbh.
It ended a couple of weeks ago, actually. While the trailer may give an impression of Twin Peaks, Alan Wake or Silent Hill, like it has to many, the show itself is 10000000% not like that. M Night pulls his trademark twist in episode 4, after that the series improves vastly because it stops pussyfooting around bullshit plot threads and embraces what it is - a trash b-series with a nonsense plot. I enjoyed it like I would enjoy a b-movie, don't go into it expecting something serious.
It wasn't bad.
[sp]4028[/sp]
[sp]book series also had a time jump the tv show just added a few hundred years [/sp] it had flaws, but it wasn't a pile of garbage.

He's credited as the producer, the showrunners are different people and, from what I've read, the twists earlier on in the series are in line with the books this is based on.
Books were better, but they were hardly any good. Everybody came across like an idiot in this. Sometimes the acting got really dodgey. Rushed through it and lost all the tension of the books. Book read like Twin Peaks. Show felt like a b-movie. Still kinda enjoyable.
I enjoyed it but it got a lot less interesting imo after the big twist [sp]I was hoping for a kinda spooky "big brother is watching" thriller, not yet another post apocalyptic series[/sp]
I was hoping for a different ending
Sequel when Also there are definitely other, similar places in the world, someone must have believed what will happen too
