A man who attacked a person with an ax just outside a West Hollywood 7-Eleven store on Saturday has been taken into custody, officials confirmed Tuesday. Kisu Bradey Brown, 41, is believed to be the man who repeatedly striking another man with an ax or "hatchet-type" weapon before fleeing the scene, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials said. [...] The victim had offered to pay for items that Brown was allegedly attempting to steal from the 7-Eleven store, according to a news release from the department. That's when Brown "became upset," the release said, and "a struggle ensued" between him and the other man while they were still inside the store. [...] The victim falls to the ground with that first swing of the blade, the video shows. "At that time, another individual comes out of the store and sees what's going on, as now the suspect is standing over our victim, chopping at his face," Bishop said, calling the assault a "very gruesome attack.""For a real quick second, the suspect walks away," Bishop said of the last moments of the attack. "He’s still in the view of the camera. He then turns around and comes back and continues to chop at the victim's face while (the victim is) lying on the ground — before he flees." Brown slammed the hatchet against the victim's skull several times, causing multiple head injuries, Bishop said. Doctors were "relieving the pressure on his skull by having a tube in his head," he said. The victim also suffered "major damage" to one of his hands, defensive wounds caused by Brown "nearly chopping his hand in half" with the weapon, Bishop said.
http://ktla.com/2017/09/05/video-photos-released-in-search-for-man-wanted-in-gruesome-west-hollywood-7-11-ax-attack-sheriff/
It's a miracle the guy survived. What the fuck is wrong with people these days though, was the attackers a drug addict and just snapped or what?
It's a miracle the guy survived. Theres pretty much 2 main types of homeless people in america. The mentally ill that have no way to get help(this countrys mental health system is horrible, not surprised most fall into this type). Then there are the "invisible" homeless, an smaller yet still in the millions. Regular folks that did everything right but had some shit luck or was just born into a shitty situation and enviroment. They tend to sleep in cars away from public eye or couch surf via friends houses. A lot of these people do tend to get their shit together after a year or so. I cant find the study but this tends to be mostly young people.
Sad story. It sucks but this is why I just straight up avoid most people that are homeless. Some are just absolutely insane, ain't worth getting stabbed over.
It's a miracle the guy survived. What the fuck is wrong with people these days though, was the attackers a drug addict and just snapped or what?
pride can be a hell of a thing, throw in the right kind of mental instability and you're left with a hell of a bad time
sounds like this dude is bipolar as hell, and his ego felt bruised that someone else would offer to pay for his items. either he was salty that he got caught stealing, or felt like the victim was giving him a pity party, or both. i really hope the victim has a decent road to recovery.
isn't it spelt axe ???
isn't it spelt axe ???
Ax works too afaik. It's just uncommon. Glad the guy survived though, but jeez those injuries.
isn't it spelt axe ???
Axe is British English. Ax is Simplified English.
Axe is British English. Ax is Simplified English.
People need to "simplify" a 3 letter word?!?!
Axe is British English. Ax is Simplified English.
As an American I have never seen anybody write "ax" instead of "axe" before now.
Jesus what's up with these people who have to steal? I work all day. 10 hours a day. I studied the remaining 14 for my Master in Nuclear Engineering at the MIT and got it in 1 year and half. Right now I'm starting my PhD. These losers cry society left them behind but the reality is they are not willing to give it all. If I, who was born in a family owning 5 states, 2 companies and having more than 2 passports, being sent to a college abroad and not having to worry about anything other than my grades and happiness, having everything covered and enjoying the safety net my parents are, could do it, so they can. #gitgud

Stories like this can't help but make me fearful of the homeless. Give someone a good turn one moment and they end up butchering you the next.
isn't it spelt axe ???
in english, ax is mostly used for tight, late-game corner triple word score plays in four person games of scrabble
I guess closing state hospitals was the right call.
Holy shit, that's like a twenty-minute walk from me, and that's around the corner from one of my buddies. I knew the homeless problem was betting bad, but I had no idea they were violent. I have a very strange relationship with the homeless people in this area, they would much rather have the money for themselves. The only charity they accept is monetary, no kindness of any type. They'd much rather be drunk, than have a proper meal, and almost all of them would rather tell you to walk away than accept any non-monetary help from you. While I am painting them with a wide brush, I always try to give an ear to the homeless, a lot of them seem rather prideful and angry if you attempt to give them anything they didn't ask for.
