"Hell hath no fury like the internet scorned," Evan Greer, campaign director of advocacy group Fight for the Future, told Motherboard in April. We should all shudder to think of the potential fury from an internet cut off from access to porn. Pornhub announced today that on July 12, the adult entertainment website plans to join a protest organized by Fight for the Future, freepress, and Demand Progress against the latest threat to a free and open internet. The protest "Day of Action" lands five days before the first deadline for comments on the FCC's proposal to roll back net neutrality protections.
https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/pornhub-will-show-its-75-million-daily-visitors-why-net-neutrality-matters
"No one in the porn industry ever yells 'slower, slower, slower,'" he said. "We're much more accustomed to 'faster, faster, faster.' Here at Pornhub, we want to keep it that way."
:godzing: Pornhub's PR really is exceptional.
:godzing: Pornhub's PR really is exceptional.
its amazing really a porn company is literally the last company that should have or even need a PR company yet they have a PR company that is better than multi-billion dollar mega-corporations that have an endless amount of cash that they can just blow on nothing like they're a site that hosts porn. They don't need to justify anything lmao.

I don't know if it's their mission or not, but at least to me, their efforts in the PR world goes a great way toward legitimizing porn. Like, the porn industry has been and will continue to be a very real business, but it's one that no one who isn't in the business really takes seriously. To most people, it's a sort of "point and snicker at the porn guys" or a "don't make eye contact with the porn people and maybe they'll go away" relationship. But by being so open with their business, and being so vocal and engaging in all of these PR events, Pornhub are really bringing mainstream attention to themselves, and are showing to the world that they are a business, just like any others. There's nothing to be ashamed about, nothing to snicker at or hope they go away. Or at least, no more than any other business. And I think that's a great thing. The Western world, and especially the United States, has this weird relationship with sex, where we idolize it and yet demonize those that partake in it; sell it, and chastise those who buy it; advertise it, and shame those who the advertising works on. It's this thing that everyone wants and likes, but everyone is too afraid to admit it, and so they attack each other and themselves about it. And I think that's something that we should be working to put an end to.
One day our children will hear tales of how porn saved the world from corporate tyrants.
what are some of the arguments against net neutrality? I cant find any unbiased sources
what are some of the arguments against net neutrality? I cant find any unbiased sources
Lmao when you find some let us know.
what are some of the arguments against net neutrality? I cant find any unbiased sources
I've heard arguments and I'm too lazy to post them but none of them are really like, that important to note, I'm not even sure if they were unbiased at all "It won't be as bad as you think" being one of them guess we have to find out the hard way another being "the free market will fix it" which is just hilarious
Lmao when you find some let us know.
The only argument I've heard for shutting down net neutrality is "so ISPs can make more money." When you consider that the core tenet of net neutrality is "every individual bit of data is considered just as valuable as every other individual bit of data", then there really is no argument to be made against it. A 0 is a 0 is a 0 is a 0, and a 1 is a 1 is a 1 is a 1. There is no intrinsic value to any individual 0 or 1. I can give you the bit '0' and it means absolutely nothing to you. It's not until I give you the bits 00000100 that the individual bits gain any value, and that is when you put them all together to get an 8-bit value (a byte) that reads the number "4". The only collection of bits I can see Ajit Pai wanting to assign some unique value would be this collection of (null-terminated) bits: 01100101 01100001 01110100 00100000 01110011 01101000 01101001 01110100 00100000 01110000 01100001 01101001 00000000
what are some of the arguments against net neutrality? I cant find any unbiased sources
Net neutrality is viewed by certain people as government regulation of the free market, which to the same certain people is an intrinsically bad thing that should be avoided as much as possible because of the belief that it stifles economic growth.
i just use it for the super mario playthroughs interrestingly, as opposed to youtube, you can actually watch videos on pornhub without getting fucked in the ass
That and the comment sections are bareable on Pornhub.
If I was Pornhub, I'd have an ad that was some IT guy looking at a the screen from the front and being ever increasingly disgusted at what they were spying on.
That and the comment sections are bareable on Pornhub.
In some cases it's hillarious.
thats a lotta cum
Doing some math: Assume for sanity's sake that about 50% of viewers are men (although it's probably higher in practice). According to some dodgy googling in incognito mode the average ejaculation is like 3-5 cubic centimeters (we'll use 4). (75,000,000/2)*4 = 42857142.86 cubic centimeters of jizz -> 42,857.14286 liters of jizz a day produced, or about 11,321 gallons in moon units. Jesus.
:godzing: Pornhub's PR really is exceptional.
Anything that get's the consumer base hard, is exceptional.
Isn't the FCC currently going straight to war on Net Neutrality? To the point of purposely D'DOSing their own website and working with cable companies to legitimize their fraudulent (using other people's names) comments against Net Neutrality? So basically this would be the Internet's Darkest/Finest Hour, depending on how this goes.
One day our children will hear tales of how porn saved the world from corporate tyrants.
I guess love really does conquer all.

Porn Hub is legitimately on the road to saving the world
Porn Hub is legitimately on the road to saving the world
Next they'll be running the country.
what are some of the arguments against net neutrality? I cant find any unbiased sources

Lmao when you find some let us know.
One of the arguments against net neutrality is to prioritize critical services. I once heard of this example: "Imagine if a doctor is doing a surgery with a remotely controlled robot while being in a completely different hospital. In that scenario you would want to prioritize the traffic needed to control the robot over other non-essential traffic to save the patient's life." Obviously there are better ways to tackle this problem than to abolish net neutrality, but the argument exists.

That said, this argument doesn't hold water because ISP's could be prioritizing critical services now but they don't. With a non-neutral net, ISP's would be able to charge those services for increased speeds, and it's naive to believe they wouldn't do everything they could to increase profits.
