Police said an Islamic State (IS) group flag was found in one of the vehicles. Edmonton Police Service Chief Rod Knecht said the officer and his vehicle were rammed by a white Chevrolet Malibu at about 20:15 local time (04:15 GMT) outside Alberta's Commonwealth Stadium. The driver then got out of his vehicle and stabbed the uniformed officer several times, before fleeing on foot. The officer was taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Five injured but no deaths thankfully
Realy, of all places, why did they choose Canada? Isn't Canada a lot more islamic-friendly than most countries?
Realy, of all places, why did they choose Canada? Isn't Canada a lot more islamic-friendly than most countries?
This isn't the first time, a terrorist tried getting into the parliament some time back and killed a soldier.
Realy, of all places, why did they choose Canada? Isn't Canada a lot more islamic-friendly than most countries?
ISIS don't really care if you are fine with Islam as a whole, they want you to submit to their own fucked up death cult brand of Islam.
ISIS don't really care if you are fine with Islam as a whole, they want you to submit to their own fucked up death cult brand of Islam.
Plus the fact that with each attack they increase tensions between people, couple more of these and suddenly Canada isn't going to be such a Islamic friendly place, as the more people are scared the more they'll lash out, could be through the rise of right wing nationalism, could start slowly in other factors but these attacks can only end with a vast number of things that work in ISIS favor. It's all planned in that regard.
This isn't the first time, a terrorist tried getting into the parliament some time back and killed a soldier.
That was really sad and one of the few times a political cartoon that depicted it was very moving :frown: : [t]https://storify.com/services/proxy/2/Cb2MA7eWl_Y_dbqrHHMq7g/http/i.huffpost.com/gen/2199938/thumbs/o-OTTAWA-SHOOTING-CARTOON-facebook.jpg[/t] As someone who is a new immigrant to Canada and is quite enjoying his new home here, I hope these shitbirds who come here with their shitty ideology get sent the fuck back.
Realy, of all places, why did they choose Canada? Isn't Canada a lot more islamic-friendly than most countries?
There's a lot of Islamophobia in this country to be quite honest.
Edmonton is pretty fucking close to me.. this just didn't have to happen? How can someone just go postal like that and run people over, stab them and run away still? This is disgusting.
canada is pure, why attack them?
Realy, of all places, why did they choose Canada? Isn't Canada a lot more islamic-friendly than most countries?
not the point
canada is pure, why attack them?
Because Canada is Western. Attacking innocent Westerners is the point.
I'm so glad the folk's injuries are not life threatening. Comes as a shock to me now that the type of attack I've been reading about so often in Europe is now happening on my own home soil, even though I shouldn't really be shocked at all.
ISIS don't really care if you are fine with Islam as a whole, they want you to submit to their own fucked up death cult brand of Islam.
In other words, the modern ultra-conservative puritan sect strongly based on the wahhabi movement.
In the years it's been since ISIS first made the scene, I always thought that if they were to attack something here, it would be WEM or one of the other malls. But now, reading this, guess I should be thankful it isn't as bad as it could have been. Still pretty terrible though, and my heart goes out to the people injured in this whole ordeal.
Wait, it was multiple vehicles doing this shit??
There's a lot of Islamophobia in this country to be quite honest.
That's just not true imo.
Realy, of all places, why did they choose Canada? Isn't Canada a lot more islamic-friendly than most countries?
I've read some of the ISIS propoganda, after their magazine or whatever you want to call it was renamed Roma. And basically anywhere that isn't officially under the jurisdiction of Sharia law is territory yet unconquered, and therefore ok to go after. And to these people, the "nicer" the country is to them, the weaker they see it as. And therefore the easier a target. I don't know if they're still publishing that stuff or if the FAQ section is still there, but in the editions i read, there's a little FAQ section about ISIS's goals, and one basically said "The weaker the kuffar states are, the less respect we have for them." as an answer to what they thought about the stance of "islam is inherently peaceful" type stuff. So yeah, honestly i'm suprised it's taken this long, the parliament hill guy aside.
What's the point? You aren't gonna do shit like that. Quit you trolls.
canada is pure, why attack them?
Yeah, so "pure"
Yeah, so "pure"
shhhhh we don't talk about indian act.
Or residential schools etc
An update on the case is that apparently, the suspect is a Somalian in the refugee claimant system.
That's just not true imo.
There are countless people I know that I try not to associate with who won't shut the fuck up about how they think Islamic folk and refugees are going to ruin Canada.
An update on the case is that apparently, the suspect is a Somalian in the refugee claimant system.
And they consistently use happenings like this to justify their commentary.
Realy, of all places, why did they choose Canada? Isn't Canada a lot more islamic-friendly than most countries?
That's the outside perception. I've met a lot of people with anti islamist beliefs, we have bigots just like everywhere else. I'd say that Canada has a lot of issues with racism and bigotry but because of the stereotypes we pretend they don't exist.
I've met a lot of people with anti islamist beliefs, we have bigots just like everywhere else.
why is rejecting the most bigoted formal set of beliefs in the world bigoted? I find treating women like chattel/property (Or otherwise worth literally half that of a man, substantiated by law in multiple places), enforcing a religious caste system with hereditary benefits to some, and unreasonable tax, up to 30% of household income per head in the house, for non believers with the jizya tax, the holy sanction of slavery, and the morale mandate to commit religiously predicated war/violence on non believers to be reprehensible. Explain to me why this makes me a bad person, or why i'm otherwise morally obliged to accept this culture which i would otherwise find absolutely reprehensible and objectionable.
This is terrifying, I didn't know this happened till now, and I live in Edmonton. As someone who lives in a Muslim/Somalian family, I condemn this act.
