Four people have been injured after a car hit them near a pub in Islington days after an unrelated terror incident at Westminster.
Scotland Yard said they are not treating it as a terror attack.
Officers were called to the scene on Essex Road near the Queen's Head pub at 10.55pm on Saturday.
A man was arrested and a number of others were seen to run from the car.
A spokesman for the Met said: "Police were called at approximately 22:55hrs on Saturday, 25 March to reports of a car in collision with a number of people in Essex Road, N1.
"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene; initial reports state four people are suffering injuries - their condition awaits.
"The occupants decamped from the car and fled the scene on foot. One male has been arrested; enquiries continue. While enquiries into the circumstances continue, this is not being treated as terrorist related. Officers from Islington investigate."
Just when you think it's not gonna happen again, It does.
I guess this is the new normal.

This is unrelated and not classified as a terror incident, but sure just go along fear mongering
I'd agree save for the abandoned knife
Could be some stupid fuck decided to go for a spin while drunk and carrying a knife.
I'd agree save for the abandoned knife
I'd say wait till we have any correspondence from police sources before jumping to conclusions over Sasquatch-quality photos from twitter randoms.

You often go out for a Saturday night drive with your butcher blades?
Could be some stupid fuck decided to go for a spin while drunk and carrying a knife.
Is that a new hot trend?

I'm not a dumbass, so no.
I'm not a dumbass, so no.
Do drunk dumbasses even carry around butcher knives though?
I'm not a dumbass, so no.
*Runs over 4 people*
oh shit let me grab my knife and make sure they're ok.

Knives are to the UK what guns are to the US, iirc. Let's imagine a bunch of hoodrats decide to go for a joyride. The driver's toasted, and carrying. He loses focus, jumps the curb, mows some people down. Everyone in the vic books it, driver loses control of the knife. Cue the twitter posts.
Or it could be a copycat terrorist attack, I don't know.
EDIT: Wait, butcher knife? Yeah, that's probably premeditated then. I missed that, I'm tired as hell.
I wonder if this means that checkpoints and barricades near tourist areas are far off considering this type of attack is becoming more common place in Europe.
RIP driving in Europe if that happens.
This looks more like some kind of revenge attack than terrorism, in any case the attack in Westminster might have been claimed by Isis but this still isn't conclusive.
I dont know man, I trust Scotland Yard over Telegraph's sensationalist title, sorry
Also, no paper mention the knives.
You can very clearly see a knife in the twitter photos. I dont think butcher knives are so common place in the UK that theyre just tossed into the streets.
Do drunk dumbasses even carry around butcher knives though?
Probably not that unusual in London

Car mows people down with occupant armed with knife in westminister.
Car mows people down with occupant armed with knife in Islington.
I'm struggling to see how it isn't different

First of all the police aren't treating this as a terror attack, secondly we don't even know where that knife came from. Someone could of got freaked by all the police and dropped it
Police wouldve mentioned it if it were relevant dont you think?
Unless theres a reason for them not too since the case is ongoing.

stabbings are pretty common, and Islington has one of the highest crimerates of any London Borough. likely gang related given the borough. Probably some pound shop Rambo with something to prove
This wouldn't even be frontpage news of a local paper if it wasn't for the pure coincidence of a similar attack recently.
Posting this is pure fearmongering - both on The Telegraph and on Tudd.
Ignore and move on.
I mean why does the title say it's days after the Westminster terror incident? I think we know that already Tudd?

Observation that would probably still be there if thread was started by someone else is put there by Tudd, time to derail and just start ragging on him again for nitpicking. Okay...?
Just wondering how it is related to the story
Two knives recovered from scene of crash which left three people injured
Four teenagers carrying knives have been arrested after a car drove into pedestrians on a busy London road, injuring at least three people.
“Four males, aged between 17 and 19, have since been arrested on suspicion of a variety of offences including GBH with intent and possession of points and blades. All four remain in custody.
“Two knives were recovered at the scene; one inside the car and one found near to the car.
I was asleep, but here is the mention of knives just so people don't think this was a conspiracy or something.

I have noticed that certain people just make statements to see if they can get a non-existent problem going.
That, or they don't realize had anyone else posted this story that the same details would come up anyways.

Still, this isn't any more than fearmongering.
As bad as it sounds, people get stabbed and shot and beaten pretty regularly in London for a variety of reasons. This in particular has PCD written all over it. Essex road is home to the most notorious gang in the Borough who have been beefing pretty intensively with the Red Pitch boys for a while now.
I understand from a person not from the UK's perspective it might seem related, but it's kind of like treating a shooting outside a club in southside Chicago as related to the Orlando nightclub shooting just because they happen around the same time
snip actually
So that's what all the sirens were about last night.

there is a knife culture here so yes
