Thought I'd make a thread for everyone to post their favourite movie scenes, and explain, if they want to, why they like it so much. To start off, the intro to Day of the Dead (1985) is a personal favourite, in which my father scarred me for life by letting me watch this as a child: It perfectly sets up a sense of dread and hopelessness for the zombie apocalypse, in addition to some kick ass music. I'll also include one of my favourite ending scenes, which is for Heat (1995): Also due to the use of music and how it wraps up the feud between the two main characters.
I adore the shootout in Open Range It's a particularly underrated western, and I'm still bummed it hasn't received a proper Blu Ray release in the US.

The ending of my favourite movie, for sure... It never gets old and is a timeless classic!

Speaking of No Country for Old Men, opening scene of Raising Arizona came to mind

In a world like Pacific Rim, just imagine how terrifying it would be to see a Jaeger this fucked up for the literally the first time ever. I'm still pissed this isn't streaming anywhere yet since I've been wanting to rewatch it for years. Always liked this scene from Kelly's Heroes. It's just so damn campy you have to love it. Self-explanatory I think.
Also want to add 11/22/63 for one of my favourite adaption scenes. Do not watch this if you intend on reading or watching the series. It's fucking amazing and it'll spoil the payoff. [sp]This is one rare occasion were a TV adaption nailed the translation of a scene from a book. Poor guy has to give up the love of his life and stop himself ever meeting his fiancee in the past, or it'll ruin the future and murder everyone. In the book he goes back to the past and tries to stay there to marry this chick he loves called Sadie, but realises that ultimately by the end, that him simply being in the past will ruin the world so he has to leave it alone. One final thing he does in the modern day is to find Sadie, who's now old as shit and because he now has never met her, she doesn't know who he is. He plans on having one final goodbye with her, so goes to a dance in her honour. During the dance, she has deja vu and swears she can remember him from somewhere. God damn that scene hit me hard. I've poorly described it but I promise it's better if you read the novel all the way through[/sp]
