Channel Zero is a Syfy show centered around adapting and re-imagining popular internet horror stories, such as creepypastas. Season 1: Candle Cove
Based on a popular "creepypasta" (user-generated horror stories that are published and passed around the Internet), Candle Cove centers on one man’s obsessive recollections of a mysterious children’s television program from the 1980s, and his ever-growing suspicions about the role it might have played in a series of nightmarish and deadly events from his childhood.
Season 2: No-End House
nspired by Brian Russell’s Creepypasta tale, Channel Zero: No-End House tells the story of a young woman named Margot Sleator, played by Amy Forsyth, who visits the No End House, a bizarre house of horrors that consists of a series of increasingly disturbing rooms. When she returns home, Margot realizes everything has changed.
Season 3: Butcher's Block
BUTCHER’S BLOCK, the third installment of the Channel Zero anthology series introduces us to Alice Woods and her schizophrenic sister Zoe who have moved to a small town to start over. Alice lives in constant fear of inheriting Zoe’s illness. On the outskirts of town lies Butcher’s Block, a hellish neighborhood where junkies roam and lawlessness abounds. It is here the sisters encounter Joseph Peach and his eerily charismatic family. The Peach’s are not your ordinary family; they live above the Butcher’s Block in a dimension that is dark utopia. They offer the sisters a place at their table with promise of a world without worry and without illness. The sisters soon find that the cost of living the good life comes at an unimaginable price and there is a fine line between escaping insanity and embracing true madness.
Season 4: (Announced, Untitled) Season 1 Official Page Season 2 Official Page Season 3 Official Page Wikipedia Entry
A monster made out of teeth? I honestly can say I haven't seen that before.
Updated the OP. The show was delayed until October 11th, and three new teasers were added. The last teaser is exciting to me, as it shows that the show will resemble the creepypasta in a fairly interesting way.
Full trailer released and added to main post.
a syfy show that adapts creepypasta stories actually looks decent how
If Candle cove has leaked into the real world media then surely its only a matter of time until the SCP database does.
If Candle cove has leaked into the real world media then surely its only a matter of time until the SCP database does.
A case-by-case SCP show would be very interesting to see happen. I'm just not sure how it could work.

Let's start a bit of a discussion, as the show is supposed to cover a new creepypasta every season, which creepypastas would you like to see? Or which ones do you think would translate well into a TV show?

Also would want to see how they handle 'Ben Drowns'.
A TV adaption of Ben would likely have to come up with something new to replace the presence of Majora's Mask (given the copyright problem). Granted, I doubt Nintento has any permanent claim on "You shouldn't have done that", but I wonder how much they would have to redesign the Elgy of Emptiness (assuming its image will remain connected to Ben) while trying to keep its unique creepy look.
I like how it seems like the characters have 3 manifestations, at least as we've seen so far. Jawbone appears in Candle Cove as his raggedy, poorly made puppet self, with the eyes that are way too large for his skull. When seen by the child in the real world, he seems more "realistic", more well made, and his eyes are just two dark pits. And he seems to have some sort of third, almost human form. I'm assuming that's the one that walks up behind the father, but I'm not sure how that one fits in.
First episode aired the other day. It's slow, but not bad.
Finally got around to watching the first episode, definitely takes a little while to find its pace. However, I think it's doing a great job of turning a creepypasta into a world with drama and an interesting mystery.
Channel Zero is renewed through season 4. http://deadline.com/2017/02/channel-zero-gets-two-more-installments-creator-nick-antosca-overall-deal-ucp-1201906789/
I just finished watching the first season a couple of days ago and I was very impressed. I actually wouldn't have minded some jumpscares, but I like how it relied on the atmosphere and visuals to give you a sense of dread, rather than cheap scares (although jumpscares can be done very clever I suppose as well). Admittedly Candle Cove isn't one of my favorite or even really liked creepypastas, but what they turned it in to for the show was pretty good. [sp]The ending episode was pretty amazing in my opinion. The dread you feel as Mike plays his last game of war with Dennis and the general helplessness of the whole end episode's situation was really great for a horror show. At the same time, how they throw a rollercoaster of emotion at you when Dennis wins the game and tries to go through the TV but actually can't. I'm still confused by the three months later though where they show Mike turning off a TV that has Candle Cove playing on it while his daughter is watching. I'm not sure if that was meant to be Mike, Dennis, both, or neither. Mike and Dennis were both stuck in that world I'm pretty sure, so I have an unanswered question in that regard.[/sp] I'd definitely give the first season a 9/10. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with No End House.
Season 2, No-End House, premiered tonight. Honestly, not sure where the season as a whole is gonna go, but I'm really digging the first episode.
From the trailers, it looks like it's gonna be focused around [sp]them still being in the house, and Margo's dad being all sorts of creepy.[/sp]
[sp]Definitely. I'm saying that mostly because that's where the first episode ended, but still. It's hard to imagine a whole series of that being as interesting and gripping as Candle Cove was, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt first.[/sp] Also, SyFy put up the first episode of No-End House on YouTube
Episode 4 spoilers [sp]A friend and I totally called Seth trying to bring them into the house. Kind of. Friend thought Seth was one of the cannibals and was trying to bring people in to eat them, or something, and I thought that was what the fake JT was gonna be doing, and Seth was just a guy who had been through it before. We were both half-right.[/sp] [sp]I'm confused now, though; Dylan's dead, but episode 1 started with him chasing Jules and trying to kill her, didn't it? How's that gonna happen?[/sp]
Season 3 starts up this Wednesday!!
Same as last year, first episode is streaming for free on youtube for those interested. For those who don't follow, this season is titled "Butcher's Block" and is based off the Search and Rescue nosleep series
Seriously, y'all need to watch this show. It is easily the best horror show out there. Bar none.
Saw season 1 recently. Was fucking great. Super late replying to this post (and the user doesn't even go here anymore lmao) but whatever felt compelled to anyways:
[sp]I'm still confused by the three months later though where they show Mike turning off a TV that has Candle Cove playing on it while his daughter is watching. Dennis never interacted in the real world as an actual person pretending to be Mike or some shit, but turning on TV's for kids with Candle Cove on them was always his schtick. so the TV going on was Dennis attempting to attack Mike's kid, followed swiftly by Mike himself turning it off again to protect his kid. It was basically just meant to show that even tho Dennis is still technically around, Mike will go on to act as a buffer to keep stopping Dennis and his child-brainwashing bullshit[/sp] ill check out the next seasons soon.
I went through the trouble of making this thread and watching the pilot episode only to promptly forget it existed. Oops. I need to catch up. Edit: I've been touched by papa postal. #blessed
i just binged both seasons. was not ready for the second one to get as sad as it did
Updated the OP, simplified and current.
Some info's come out about season 4, now officially titled: The Dream Door ‘Channel Zero’ Sets Cast, Gets Title For Fourth Installment On S..
so wait, was this show actually good? I thought I read somewhere that the writing and acting was kinda shitty so I never bothered with it.
