The Cry of Mann is a new Adult Swim stream currently being broadcast. The story follows the Mann family, a wealthy business-owning family whose paternal head, Tank Mann, has disappeared for reasons unknown. As the Mann family's business begins to fall apart, conspiracies unravel, drama ensues, and other shenanigans arise. Oh and also Trool day is coming up so everyones looking forward to that.
The whole show is run by the Wham City Comedy troupe who made other Adult Swim specials like Unedited Footage of a Bear and This House has People in it. It keeps their absurdist style of comedy by parodying the soap opera genre, but with a live element whereby viewers can call during the show and talk directly to the characters through a series of orange phones located around their house. Viewers can also email pictures to Adult Swim and see them hung up all around the house. The live show is further complemented by an 'after-show' called 'Tanking Mann' broadcast directly after the latest episode, which is in turn a parody of most talk shows involving celebrities where you can ask questions to members of the cast out of character.
If youve watched anything by Wham City Comedy in the past, its pretty similar but with a mystery-drama angle instead of a horror one. Personally Ive found the show to be pretty entertaining in its own right and it does seem to be developing a real fleshed out story as well.
If you want to watch, all the previous streams as well as the live broadcasts are online at http://www.adultswim.com/videos/streams/the-cry-of-mann
The program airs October 23rd to October 26th and October 30th to November 2nd at 11 PM Eastern Time.
