While “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is still two months away from opening, Sony is acting quickly to build its extended universe, which starts with the “Venom” movie. Although the studio has been meeting with directors for some time, the actor selection process sped up after Hardy exited J.C. Chandor’s action-thriller “Triple Frontier,” and Sony saw an opportunity to go after an in-demand talent. Fleischer showcased his ability to bring together dark themes and humor in “Zombieland,” and according to sources, Hardy is a huge fan of Venom. Hardy’s only previous film in the superhero genre is 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” in which he played another baddie, Bane. “Venom” is set to hit theaters on Oct. 5, 2018. Good. I really like Tom Hardy.
Run Tom, run! It's a Sony movie!
I know Sony doesn't have a great track record but man I really hope this movie is cool. I was sad that Spiderman 3 had such a lack of Venom in it even though he was the coolest villain.
Sony
Uh, you don't get bring good movies.
Sony is the little brother trying to live up to his parents expectations of his big brother, Marvel C.U., but only continues to disappoint his family.
That's because he takes his big brother's stuff and uses it wrong.
Oh, poor Tom. Please don't let this movie do to you what Star Trek Nemesis did.
Venom and Carnage made the Spiderman universe super cool for me as a child, and are probably the reason why I keep hoping some great faithful adaptions for this universe are finally made
That's because he takes his big brother's stuff and uses it wrong.
More like big brother lent the toys to little Sony so that he has a collection. As the years go by big brother MCU finds the Spiderman toys he let borrow are covered in twigs in the joints and mud ruining the paint job.

I loved his spot as Bane, and other movies where he played the big tough guy. My biggest concern is the mass he will need to gain. My girlfriend and I were talking about who'd be a good actor to play Venom, because to us Venom is in the same rank as Deadpool as in you can't just give him a bad actor, you have to do him justice. Tom Hardy was a one guy she mentioned, but from what she told me his health ain't so good after the Bane role, because of the amount of weight he had to put on and all that other shit that can fuck with you. sorry alot of words.
Isn't Venom the name of the drug used by Bane in Batman ?
this movie could flop horribly and tom hardy would escape unscathed he's tom fuckin hardy
Isn't Venom the name of the drug used by Bane in Batman ?
...Bane?
Was worried the title was a joke and that was a picture of Shia Lebeouf for a second there
Can't wait for this 2 hour long edgy Columbia records top 40 compilation + Vaio commercial
I just hope they don't give him a stupid voice like Bane, Tim Hardy is top
Isn't Venom the name of the drug used by Bane in Batman ?
From what I recall, yes. And sadly, the first time I heard of it was in Batman & Robin, where he was portrayed as some lumbering thick-headed brute. It was only until many years later that I learned of what Bane is supposed to be: brutishly strong but terrifyingly intelligent. Also, Tom Hardy was an EXCELLENT voice for Bane. There was something just so magical about having such a brilliant brute sound so very much like Deckard Cain. "Stay a while and listen, Batman." Either way, let's hope that Venom plays out as amazingly as it should be. For even with Tom Hardy being a badass Venom, it won't be able to save a shite story with poor direction. Which hopefully Venom WON'T be.
...Bane?
aye.
