Alexanderplatz is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the German capital. But it is also regularly the scene of violent crime, as two mass brawls over the weekend once again proved.
Police arrested 16 young men at Alexanderplatz in central Berlin over the weekend in connection with two mass brawls, involving knives and tear gas, that broke out over the weekend.
The first clash occurred late on Friday night and left six men injured. One 18-year-old had to undergo emergency surgery after being stabbed in the back. By Saturday he was in stable condition in hospital.
A 13-year-old who police say was accidentally caught up in the violence was also slightly injured and needed to be treated at the scene.
According to police, those involved in the brawl were Afghan and Syrian citizens. Police made eight arrests.
The second brawl took place on Saturday evening when an argument escalated between two groups of men for reasons which are not yet clear.
Two men were left injured after the fight, which involved men from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria. Police arrested eight men aged between 15 and 25.
Gotta get that sweet welfare money while not integrating into our culture and society.
Can't wait till they bring their family to Germany by abusing the law of Familiennachzug.

Is Germany too far gone to instate actual integration policies? Is it too late to introduce programs that essentially put immigrants on a probationary period, during which they go through mandatory "schooling" to introduce the culture, language, history, law and customs? End goal naturally being that they MUST prove to be adequately informed on these matters by the end of their probationary period, alongside only receiving monetary support for basic essentials and comforts until they acquire jobs and start providing for themselves.
Government appointed officials can keep track of how far and well along the integration process people are, as well as eventually probing for whether they have found employment, offering counseling and guidance if needed. If they have no justifiable reason to not seek employment and/or fail the integration schooling, there should be no further support on the part of the government. It will be their own fault they become destitute. IF they violate any law or prove repeat offenders against locals in any justifiable way, on a case-by-case basis during their probationary period, they get deported. Endless welfare is leading to further problems.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. If I was forced to flee to any other country, I'd fully expect to have to acclimatize and adapt to local conditions to function effectively. Not acclimatizing would be severely limiting to my ability to succeed. This is obvious. I see absolutely NO reason why the local population of any nation is obligated to adapt to immigrants. Western societies however do adapt and acclimatize themselves to foreign influences inside their communities, out of curiosity, interest and politeness. This is totally OK. People CAN adapt and adopt foreign cultural influences and languages all they want. But the initial burden must be on the immigrants themselves to signal willingness to coexist by acclimatizing themselves to their new homes first.
Unwillingness to do this is a clear signal to me that they have no intention of partaking in the society, reaping the benefits (welfare) but shouldering none of the obligations (respecting the people, customs and laws, paying taxes and providing for the society that provides for them). In worst cases they segregate themselves to form enclaves, and sadly this is increasingly the issue.
Good thing they will be send back once the war is over
we'll see how many are sent back and if any start riots because they refuse to leave
