An investigation is under way into a robbery in Dublin, in which a cash-in-transit security guard was forced to hand over a cash box.
The security guard was making a cash delivery to a bank in Raheny Village just after midday when he was approached by a man armed with what was described as a hammer.
The security guard was forced to hand over a cash box, before the man left the scene in a Renault Megane, which was driven by another man.
A short time later the car rammed a Garda patrol car on the Clontarf Road, before being later found abandoned on La Vista Avenue in Clontarf.
Gardaí recovered the cash box in the car.
