Spacey, who stars in the political drama, has been accused of making sexual advances to a 14-year-old boy. The show was already due to end after this season, but production is now suspended "until further notice".
Had a friend who literally just got a job there too hah.
You really wonder, how many Hollywood productions would have to be suspended if we knew the identity of every harasser in the industry?
no matter the number, i'd be fine with them being cancelled if it meant the paedophiles and predators in positions of power were stopped ukno
ya what spacey did is unacceptable and being drunk or gay is no excuse and this guy has every right to file charges or at least air the story but this doesn't sound like he was intentionally doing this like some of the creeps its also sad in a way because spacey does a lot of funding to get kids into film making and acting and that charity is probably going to go up in flames

Also, actor tried to say something in 2001. Got redacted. http://www.citizen-times.com/story/news/local/2017/10/30/bruce-steele-column-why-we-did-not-out-kevin-spacey-2001/812403001/
no matter the number, i'd be fine with them being cancelled if it meant the paedophiles and predators in positions of power were stopped ukno
So you'd be okay with half of hollywoods movies vanishing then?
So you'd be okay with half of hollywoods movies vanishing then?
you weighing up a period of movie drought to enabling continuing child abuse
you weighing up a period of movie drought to enabling continuing child abuse
Ever heard of a joke, rusty?
Ever heard of a joke, rusty?
Ever heard of a good one genius?
Ever heard of a joke, rusty?
ever heard no one laughing.
if half of all good vidgames wouldn't be possible due to studio heads and publisher bigwigs being fired/jailed for sexual harassment/abuse, i'd be happy that justice was served, not sad that an entertainment medium lost some projects for a few years
Is it not possible to feel both? Like it's pretty shitty that some potentially good work could be lost but if it's to stop shit like this from being perpetuated then sure, go ahead.
Ever heard of a joke, rusty?
hilarious
Ever heard of a joke, rusty?
Holy shit this excuse. No, you didn’t make a joke, you made a dumbass post. Quit it with this.
Ever heard of a joke, rusty?
kindly point me to the joke because i dont see it
kindly point me to the joke because i dont see it
humour is subjective no need to start a witch hunt/circlejerk over someone being facetious
This does sort of confuse me. I mean, what in practical terms would equal "justice" for a case like this? I mean it doesn't sound like a rape allegation, just harassment. Still bad, but not quite as severe. We don't know if it was a one off thing either, but at least from the sounds of it, it sounds like Spacey has been mostly good to people since then. "Rehab"? Jailtime? Community Service? Acting ban? What realistically makes sense? Does time past matter as a factor? Can people redeem themselves?

Lots of them work as a sort of punishment thing, so an incentive not to commit the crime and to satisfy people who "demand justice". Restorative justice works differently to stop the offender repeating the crime, even then you face the question of "can this person be reformed"?
Ever heard of a joke, rusty?
Merely pretending.

This is a business decision, not a work of social justice.
