The teens are accused of standing at an Interstate 75 overpass in Vienna Township, about 80 miles north of Detroit, on Oct. 18 and throwing rocks at passing cars. Anger allegedly dropped a six-pound rock from the overpass that smashed through a truck’s windshield and killed 32-year-old Kenneth White, who was driving home from work. The rock hit White’s face and ricocheted onto his chest, causing fractures to his skull and face. The driver’s cause of death was ruled as blunt force trauma to his head and chest. ... A similar thing happened around here when a girl from my school was killed by a rock some kid kicked off a cliff. In that instance he didn't know there were people below, but it shows you need to be aware of what you're doing and understand that it could end someone's life and ruin your own.
Stupid fucking kids.. And the victim was a father of four? Christ, he didn't deserve this shit, just driving home from work only to have this happen..
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, at that age anything bad that you've witnessed or done feels like a distant dream. Its easy to forget that what you do has consequences, and from the looks of it these kids will now have to face them the hard way. I don't think they deserve sympathy, but I do believe that they should be reminder that even children are not free from the most severe consequences.
Fucking idiots.
Something similar happened here in PA, teacher from Ohio was riding with her family and a rock thrown from an overpass took half her head and left her mentally disabled, shit was heartbreaking.
why are kids so fucking stupid
Damn they might get life for this? Yeh theyre fucking dumbasses i just doubt they intended on killing anyone. Its a shame all around really.
What the fuck is with kids wanting to throw shit at peoples cars while driving? I had some brats hit my windshield with a water balloon once, and the shock from it happening out of nowhere almost caused me to slam into the back of another car. I Spent the next 10 minutes chasing them through back woods to put the fear of God in them, hoping they'd never do it again. Ended up finding them going into one of their parents houses a few blocks away. Went by that afternoon to tell them what happened, got an apology from two of the kids after telling them how dangerous and stupid that is. I can't even imagine what it was like to have a six pound rock from an interstate overpass land on your car. What were these idiots thinking would happen, they'd just "scare" a few people? Hope they enjoy the fear of prison for 15+ years. I doubt all of them will get life, but whoever cast that stone is likely going to be locked up forever.
Damn they might get life for this? Yeh theyre fucking dumbasses i just doubt they intended on killing anyone. Its a shame all around really.
Even if they hadn't intended on killing anyone, they were clearly doing so to cause damage or injury to people and vehicles below. There's literally no other outcome that throwing rocks from an overpass could've had.
Damn they might get life for this? Yeh theyre fucking dumbasses i just doubt they intended on killing anyone. There's literally no other outcome that throwing rocks from an overpass could've had.
One of the sources says they were "playing a prank" called "dinging" where you throw rocks at cars to hear the ding sound it makes. It's not much of an innocent musical prank when, as another source stated, they were throwing rocks as large as twenty pounds. Oh, and this was apparently not the first time they'd done it. There's so much to be angry about with this story.
those rocks look like small boulders, not pebbles. what the fuck were they thinking? Fucking wankers honestly. Why would you want to do this
Had a kid on my bus once throw a newish can of Axe body spray at a semi truck as our bus passed it at 60 mph. The can flew straight through the guys windshield and nearly caused a massive accident. I don't know how they didn't get expelled for that but goddamn I wish they had. Fucking dickheads.
One of my most shameful memories was being a really young kid and I threw a rock at someone's car as they were driving by. Of course they got out and yelled at me, and I realized how much of a fucking idiot I had been. I still feel really bad about it, but I figure never doing any shit like that again kinda makes up for it. Rocks are dangerous, kids. My mom lost an eye from a kid hiding a rock in a snowball. He hadn't meant to get someone in the eye, I'm sure, but that doesn't really count for shit, does it?
We spent TWO MILLION YEARS using rocks as weapons. If you can't recognise the danger of throwing a small boulder at someone, you are even dumber than this motherfucker [t]https://i.imgur.com/qLmY9E3.jpg[/t]
Had a friend of mine comment on this article on social media, saying that even if it's fucked that someone died that they shouldn't "demonize" the children since they we're just being kids and how they use to do it too with pebbles. I'm just sitting here thinking pebbles are one thing and even then it's a stupid dangerous thing to do but these kids were throwing six to twenty pound rocks. There's no way you couldn't of known at that point you're fucking someone's car up and potentially killing them by doing that.
Nobody should be throwing ANYTHING at people's cars, especially if they're moving. Driving enough is stressful and as a few pointed out the shock of something unexpected like that can almost cause accidents. People are risking their lives by driving these machines. Plus it's just inconsiderate and fucking awful. I don't work my ass off just to have some punks throw shit at my car.
Damn they might get life for this? Yeh theyre fucking dumbasses i just doubt they intended on killing anyone. Its a shame all around really.
You could use this same logic on drunk drivers. It doesn't matter what these dumb fuckin kids intended to do, they were capable of killing someone and they did. They shouldn't get a lightened sentence because they were just messing around.
Reminds me when I was a dumb kid in grade school and threw paper out a bus window on the highway. The sheer scolding and punishment I got was enough to scare me straight, I didn't quite comprehend what was wrong until they explained it to me that it could've caused an accident if it hit a windshield and blinded someone, among other factors. The thing is, a kid doesn't know right or wrong until you properly teach them so and they get good context. These teens are high school age, all of them, and in this case, there are no excuses. Throwing a six-pound rock like that isn't some kid not knowing better, it's an act of stupidity or malevolence.
The teenage boys are expected to be arraigned on Tuesday and face life in prison if convicted.
Good thing the court isn't fucking around. This is straight up murder. [editline]24th October 2017[/editline]
You could use this same logic on drunk drivers.
Many places do.
I still remember that news story about kids dropping rocks off an overpass until some guy gets out of his car and shoots one of them with a fucking crossbow.
I still remember that news story about kids dropping rocks off an overpass until some guy gets out of his car and shoots one of them with a fucking crossbow.
Well that's a story I wasn't expecting to be real but there you go.
Those kids are fucked.
Good thing the court isn't fucking around. This is straight up murder. [editline]24th October 2017[/editline] Many places do.
Sure, and how many people get away with cut and dry murder with "well he didn't mean to do it". Not many.
"Let's throw rocks at ongoing traffic! That'll mess with old man Crothers and totally not have long term consequences!" I never did this myself, but one time as a child in my folk's old van a couple of 7-9 year olds threw rocks at us as we were going through a neighborhood. Not only did they leave permanent dents on the passenger door, it distracted my mom long enough to almost hit another guy running a red light. "Kids will be kids" is one thing, but there's another saying that goes "Kids are cruel."
I've had rocks shot at me from kids with slingshots while driving before, to make matters worse I was riding a gas scooter. I'll never forget seeing that blur streak past my face and turning to see those little fuckwads looking at me.
I'm reminded of that russian dashcam video of the truck that was carrying rocks when one of them fell off and hit a woman in a small car square in the face killing her instantly while everyone else in the car screams and sobs in horror and bewilderment for 5 minutes. These kids can rot.
I've had rocks shot at me from kids with slingshots while driving before, to make matters worse I was riding a gas scooter. It says the man was a father :(

They're not five, six or seven years old. They're teenagers. They should know right from wrong at this point.
