What is Twin Peaks?
Twin Peaks is a murder mystery show revolving around FBI agent Dale Cooper's investigation of the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer in the fictional town of Twin Peaks, Washington. The show was created by Mark Frost and famed director David Lynch, and is considered to be one of the greatest shows of all-time. The show originally ran for two seasons from 1990 to 1991, until it was cancelled due to low ratings.
What is Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me?
FWWM is a movie released in 1992 that follows the life of Laura Palmer for a week before her murder. Although it is technically a prequel, it is strongly recommended that you watch it after watching both seasons of the show because otherwise it would spoil the identity of the killer for you, and it addresses events from Season 2. The movie was panned by critics at the time and remains divisive among fans, but it is definitely worth watching at least once.
Isn't there a third season in the works?
A limited series continuation of the show is currently in production, and will air on Showtime in early 2017. Several actors have been confirmed to return, a few actors have declined to return or have passed away, and new actors have been cast in new recurring roles for Season 3. David Lynch and Mark Frost will be writing and directing the series, and Angelo Badalamenti will return as composer.

What's the best way to watch the show for the first time?
As previously mentioned, you should watch through the entire show and then watch FWWM. It is worth noting that there are two different versions of the pilot episode: the American pilot and the European pilot. The American pilot is 94 minutes long and it's the version you should watch if you're experiencing the show for the first time. It's also the version that's on Netflix and Amazon Prime and such. The European pilot is 116 minutes long and is almost identical to the US version, except with some additional scenes that were added to make it work as a standalone movie. Wait until you're done with the show if you want to see this version to check out the added scenes.

twin peaks is awesome
Fire Walk with me is awesome in a completely messed up way
I love Field Mouse's shoegaze rendition of the theme

I absolutely love Twin Peaks up until about halfway through season 2. Then I just like it. Still a fantastic show though.

On the topic of music inspired by Twin Peaks:

Haven't seen FWWM yet though. Need to change that sometime.
I'm so happy the show is coming back, even if it ends up not being good, it wont hurt the originals in any way.
Filming is officially complete. Here is the cast list for Season 3, with returning cast members noted with an asterisk.

Also lots of families - fathers with sons, mothers with daughters. That's interesting.
Also, judging from the cast who is missing - [sp]Sheriff Truman, Donna Hayward, Catherine Martell, Annie Blackburn[/sp], unless they were to be played by different actors (like [sp]Robert Forster for Truman, as many people assumed that recently)[/sp]

I'm not surprised that [sp]Lara Flynn Boyle as Donna Hayward[/sp] is not there. Plastic surgery has messed her up quite a bit.
The new Xiu Xiu record of TP covers is pretty killer. The cast list makes me wonder how much of these appearances are just going to be cameos…

[sp]Donna's father and sister (who I keep forgetting exists) are on there, so she was probably recast.[/sp]
Someone has compiled an annotated list of the season 3 cast members, with pictures. Pretty useful.

25 years ago during filming of the original she was a whiny cunt who allowed her personal life affect the production and she threatened to leave the project if Cooper (she was dating MacLachlan at the time) were to get in a relationship with Audrey.
Good riddance.

That doesn't make a lot of sense, seeing as Annie shows up and he gets in a relationship with her.

That would be because she was specifically written in as his love interest after Boyle vetoed the cooper-audrey relationship.
Ideally, Annie would see that Cooper really loves Audrey, and convince Cooper to call of their relationship to chase after Audrey, who is now old enough to have a relationship like she originally thought of. That's the perfect ending for me.

We'll seeing as Heather graham's not in the cast list, Annie probably won't be in the series which means:
[sp] a) she didn't survive her experience in the black lodge and died at the hospital [/sp]
Or
[sp] b) she did survive, but was too traumatized/too mentally unstable to stay in Twin peaks and left [/sp]
Either way, she's not in the picture for the next season.
That doesn't mean her character isn't in Twin Peaks.

But what about Audrey's relationship with Billy Zane?
I completely about forgot that. Dunno!
Honestly as much as I like Billy Zane, John Justice Wheeler (that fucking name lol) was pretty much only there to get Audrey on the rebound. I really wouldn't mind if he didn't come back.
I like to imagine that his plane exploded shortly after takeoff
So are we actually going to see Diane this time around?
So are we actually going to see Diane this time around?
yes she is an iphone now

[sp]Laura Dern[/sp]
[sp]Laura Dern[/sp]
That was my first thought when I saw her on the cast list.
Tbh I feel like it would've been odd to see Dale fall in love with a high school aged girl but I ain't no David Lynch so what do I know.

the only reason that they didn't have cooper give audrey his cock is because lara flynn boyle (donna's actor) was dating kyle maclachlan (dale cooper) at the time and she was bent on not allowing it
Yeah I know, that's why I brought it up.
