The Offering
Investment
Investment and participation is straightforward!
Invest any amount into the campaign (with $250 as a minimum), and earn your pro rata share of 50% of profits until you made 120% of your original investment; after which you’ll earn your pro rata share of 25% of profits until 18 months after the worldwide launch of the game, or the earlier termination of our license to market and sell the game! The percentages are subject to pro rata decreases in the event we raise less than the $2,000,000 we are seeking to raise in this Offering and in the offering under Regulation D 506(c) in which we anticipate engaging. See the Offering Details in the document below for a complete set of terms.

Roller Coaster Tycoon Touch ...
The fact that 750 bucks doesn't even get you a copy of the game should tell you all you need to know.
Fuck you, Atari.
This is my favorite part
In developing the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise in its most recent versions, Atari worked with Nvizzio Creations. This world-class developer has years of experience developing engaging 3D experiences for gamers, and was intimately involved in the development of RollerCoaster Tycoon World for the PC.
Like at $750 the 25% off is just straight insulting. I'd feel less insulted if there wasn't even any discount.
This part is the real kicker:
Irregular Use of Proceeds
We might incur Irregular Use of Proceeds that may include but are not limited to the following over $10,000: Vendor payments and salary made to one's self, a friend or relative; Any expense labeled "Administration Expenses" that is not strictly for administrative purposes; Any expense labeled "Travel and Entertainment"; Any expense that is for the purposes of inter-company debt or back payments.
Why is anyone even donating to this?
The fact that 750 bucks doesn't even get you a copy of the game should tell you all you need to know.

what the fuck? 25% off?? for $750 i'd expect a copy and 3 copies to give my friends or something
This part is the real kicker:
Why is anyone even donating to this?
Thats pretty fucking bad.
"Donate so we can pay friends and family, or pay off debts!"
Atari needs to close down so people who actually care about their IPs can get them in an auction like with THQ.

To be honest:

This is probably aimed more towards actual investors looking to make a profit off of a product rather than fans wanting to help get one of their favorite games ported.
So for $1500, I can have my name on a website, get a 25% off coupon, and a book that I can go and buy for about $35?
Are we sure this isn't parody?
sounds like its a kickstarter for investors, not for players
that video was so pathetic: a woefully out of touch company, instead of trying to catch up with consumers, trying to con other out of touch investors because they couldn't get funding through traditional means
and they're porting the fucking f2p mobile version?
2017 ended with EA, 2018 began with Atari
Also, why are they funding a game that you can play for free on mobile?
1st: Sell you game.
2nd: Sell you game and sell you DLC.
3rd: Sell you game and sell you DLC and introduce microtransactions.
4th: Sell you game and sell you DLC and introduce microtransactions and make game grindfest.
5th: Get game funded by you, sell you game, Sell you DLC, introduce microtransactions and make game grindfest.
I hate current game industry...

Why is literally everybody ignoring this

None of the posts made after that post (except for the one above yours) is contrary to that post though, so I don't know why you're saying that.

Only two of the posts beneath that one actually commented on it, although I will admit that I initially missed those and was mostly responding to the general narrative of the thread.
Seems like people think this is kickstarter, when startengine is about actual investment.
You invest money in order to make money back later on.
The unmitigated success of the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise made the opportunity clear for Atari Game Partners
Yea because the past RollerCoaster Tycoon games have been such successes especially compared to other new indie titles.
I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole, investors probably loose their money or make next to nothing.
This whole deal reeks of scam to get money. The only things I'd touch on any platform now is Planet Coaster and the original 3 RCT games. Maaaybe Parkitect once it comes out, but till then it's a no-go.
They have a timeline on that crowdfunding about the line of games. RCTW is very obviously absent from it. Also the mobile game RCT Touch has lootboxes because it's a garbage mobile game.

And more money back if you actually read, because its an investment, not a regular kickstarter

At that point why even give a 25% coupon then though.
They made 2 billion last year and they're crowd funding? You know they're going to use some loop holes to define "profit" and not pay anyone anything, take the money and run, give you a shitty RCT game, and pocket the rest, all without putting forward any of their own money. Right?
Planet Coaster is the only coaster game you'll ever need
Looks like they updated the crowdfunding page and added a Q&A:
requently Asked Questions - RollerCoaster Tycoon® for the Nintendo Switch™
3 hours ago
We have seen the comments and questions about RollerCoaster Tycoon® for the Nintendo Switch™ campaign and think it would be helpful to provide a list of Frequently Asked Questions.
Why has Atari selected RollerCoaster Tycoon® ("RCT") for the Nintendo Switch™?
We have selected to bring RollerCoaster Tycoon to the Nintendo Switch because it is among the most recognized and successful franchises of Atari and of the videogame industry. By investing in RCT on the Nintendo Switch, investors have access to years of historical data, always helpful to better assess risks associated with any investment.
Why did Atari Game Partners decide to ask people on the internet for money instead of publishing as it has in the past? Does it not have the capital to front the development and distribution costs?
As a publisher, Atari has started the development of the game and will release it no matter what the outcome of the campaign, because it has the resources to do it. This is clearly set forth on Page 14 of the Offering Details http://••••••••2Bs81oi: “For the further avoidance of doubt, if we do not raise 100% of the funds, our majority stockholder intends to provide additional funding or credit in exchange for the balance of the Net Receipts not distributed to the Investors.”
From a big picture perspective, bear in mind we have a portfolio of more than 200 games. This Start Engine campaign is a test of alternative financing resources to see if this could be applicable to other games of our portfolio to accelerate our growth. For this test, we selected RollerCoaster Tycoon for the Nintendo Switch given the awareness of the brand and the growth of the Nintendo platform.
Will investors be involved in the game development?
Investors will own a share of the net receipts generated by the game. As such, they will have access to regular reports on the game development status, key features and other relevant information about the project.
Who is Atari Game Partners ("AGP")?
Atari Game Partners is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atari that was created to bring Atari intellectual properties (“IP”) to handheld platforms.
What is the strategy of AGP?
The strategy of AGP is to select games from the Atari portfolio of intellectual properties and develop new titles for handheld platforms.

What is the difference between the strategy of Atari and the strategy of AGP?
The strategy of AGP is to develop and publish Atari games for handheld and other platforms. The Atari Group invests in various businesses, such as games, casino games, entertainment programming and the Ataribox. The strategy of the Atari Group is therefore multi-pronged, with opportunities and risks in various business lines.
Why is AGP entering into a revenue share deal and not issuing shares to investors?
We prefer to go this route to allow access to a financial product with liquidity and distributions generated by the net receipts of the game.
What is the difference between an investment in AGP and a purchase of Atari shares?
An investment in AGP provides exposure to the performance of one single game. An investment in Atari shares provides exposure to the performance of the entire Atari Group. With the proposed transaction, investors have access to a financial product with a focus on liquidity and cash distributions based on net receipts generated by the game.

What is the role of Atari in the development, publishing and distribution of the game?
Atari contributes three key items to the process; a license to the intellectual property, previously paid development expenses, and production services.
What is the deal for Atari? What is Atari getting out of AGP?
Atari’s involvement is defined as above and set forth on the website. https://www.startengine.com/atari-game-partners
When does the Start Engine campaign start and end?
The campaign begins on January 23, 2018 and ends on April 23, 2018.
When will the game be available?
The current development and production schedule provides for a launch in 2018.
Why is the game not open to international investors?
We are limiting to U.S. investors to comply with all applicable regulations.
Is this just a port of the mobile game?
RollerCoaster Tycoon on the Nintendo Switch is a new game. It is not a port, nor a free-to-play game. It is a full premium RCT experience, taking elements players love from classic RCT titles and RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch, and updating them for today’s gamers and the unique properties of the Nintendo Switch. The game is based on technology from RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch, the most recent, critically acclaimed mobile title in the franchise.

How would the company respond to comments on the Start Engine page who look at RollerCoaster Tycoon World and RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch and are concerned about a Switch version being good and worth investing in?
RollerCoaster Tycoon for the Nintendo Switch will be a completely new entry in the beloved RCT franchise and will benefit from the unique features of the Nintendo Switch. It is not a port, nor a free-to-play style game. It is a full premium RCT experience for the Nintendo Switch.
RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch is a success on mobile and highly rated – currently 4.4/5 on the iOS AppStore and 4.3/5 stars on Google Play, with a review of 4.5/5 from GameZebo upon launch. The continued success of the title almost a year after its release speak to its quality and reinforces how much players enjoy the game.
Atari and Nvizzio Creations learned much from RollerCoaster Tycoon World; and the game, which was made by a separate team within the studio, is still undergoing continued development. Updates to RollerCoaster Tycoon World have been released and another update is coming soon.
They also edited the Offerings Document as well.
