Going to a school dance this friday with a girlfriend, tips?

Alright, long story shot. This girl and I have been close for about 10-12 months. We decided to attend the winter dance that is happening at my school this Friday.
Thing is, I have never been to a dance of any kind in my life.
I have some decent clothes, and it's not like my entire relationship depends on this event, but I just want to make it worth it.

Any advice you guys could tell me?

For hair try to spike your hair, if you're unsure how just head to a barber and tell them you want it cut to be spiked and observe what they do. You should note the name of the product they use and buy it online as you'll get ripped off.

For your face you really only need mascara, black lipstick is optional, chicks really enjoy men wearing these. You can get the mascara from your sister, black lipstick idk you may need to shop around.

Don't go.

Dances are awful, think about all that goddamn time you'll be wasting. It'll be cramped and hot and sweaty; your feet will hurt and your fedora will be too tight. You could be at home, on facepunch with all of us, your best pals. You don't need some stupid woman.

- Turn your phone off while you're there. If you drive there, then leave your phone in the car. Don't be that guy who sits in the corner with his phone out.

- If you're nervous about dancing and she starts dancing with you, don't turn around and dance with the fucking wall. I had a friend do that and it ended in tears. Hell, try to rehearse dancing beforehand if you just aren't sure, if you can think of anything that prevents you from standing out like a sore thumb then that's great and it might help your confidence.

- If you're not driving, I'd recommend having a drink or two beforehand to loosen up a bit. Don't go overboard and down half a bottle of bourbon, have a beer or two [B]but pace it[/B]. Don't have two beers within 30 minutes of the thing. But having some can help deal with anxiety if you have any, without affecting your motor skills too much (for dancing). I know you're in year 11 so you might not be old enough to buy any, so get a friend or sibling to get you some.
