Lately, when logging on MY user, the CPU fan revs up and the sound is so unbearable I can't keep the computer on. However, this doesn't occur on my computer's other users. I've vacuumed it, removed every spec of dust. I've done a virus scan, didn't find anything that caused this problem. I've removed lots of startup programs to free up space, but nothing helps. What's going on with my computer?
Have you got a program telling it to turn on at a certain temperature, if you do, you can change the settings. Check system.
Try to check if anything is in the way of the fan, happen the other day for me, scared me shitless
Install SpeedFan
I have the same problem. I just manually adjust the speed.
Check your cpu usage, see if there's any programs using up excessive amounts of processing power causing the fan to run faster.
