I'm not a huge metal fan. I like metallica's old stuff and i love megadeths entire discography though.
Hasn't been too many bands lately to catch my attention though.
There is no right answer, all you will get are opinions.
Beatles were metal? :saddowns:
Better. Metal back then wasn't even metal. I like something actually heavy and awesome.

And it's not yelling, it's growled mostly. And alot of metal isn't just people yelling.
Msn has just rated the beatles as the most ever rated band ever. :v:
Better.

Msn is also a combined place of opinions. :p
Meh, everybody says The Beatles were amazing. I think they're pretty good but I don't like some of their songs too much.
It's more widespread & mainstream now. But today the range of metal is gigantic with tons of unique sounds out there, but also a lot of junk. Generally It's gotten better.
Listen to real metal.. Heavy metal.
New metal sucks. After the screaming got popular.
The beatles? metal? It is an agreement that metal started with Black Sabbath. Also metal has gotten so bad lately, that if you're an original metal head, you should know that some of the stuff that people call "metal" doesn't really belong into the metal category anymore.
There are loads of different types of metal so it doesn't count
Well, I believe that alloys and metals have increased in strenght and durability exponentially since its inception into the world of modern day engineering.
better on some parts. worst one some.
Nothing beats 70's or 80's Thrash/Heavy metal.
My idea of metal contains bands like As I Lay Dying.
My idea of heavy metal is more of Iron Maiden. Older metal was more technical, no screaming, more hair, generally. I like both of them.
iron maiden isnt heavy metal -.-
Loose quote from Wikipedia
"Iron Maiden were one of the pioneers of the new wave of British Heavy Metal"
iron maiden isnt heavy metal -.-
Iron Maiden is the definition of Heavy Metal.
I think Metal has gotten better. These recent years have been awesome years for Power Metal. 2003-2007, Oh the awesomeness.
Metal was better before screaming, IMO.
Metal was better before screaming, IMO.
Kill 'em All was released in 1983 and it had some pretty heavy screaming. Or maybe you think only that which was prior to that was good. Or maybe you think screaming = death metal growl or something. Either way you're making a fool out of yourself.
Depends on genre. I like a lot of new stuff, but I also dislike a lot of new stuff. Same goes for old stuff. You can't really split metal into now and then.
