For some odd reason, out of the blue, when I loaded my Halo 3 save, all I see is a third person shot of my character spawning, and then it reverts back to the main Halo 3 screen. What could cause this?
Save file corruption. It's fucked, you'll have to start over.

Why would it randomly corrupt itself?
Multiple reasons. Did you turn off the console while saving? Did you start up the Xbox with the Hard Drive half-way in? (Thats how my friend's got corrupted)
Nope. I did however replace my 360 since it would RROD here and there, with a new working system. It's just another 360 Arcade. Not sure why that would do it though.

Anyways, no clue to what have caused it but you know how to solve it. Delete all Halo 3 data from your Hard Drive (Don't worry, you still keep your achievements)
