• Am I doing Sit Ups Correctly?

If anyone has served in the armed forces, could you please help? I can do sit ups, but only half way. I can't touch my legs. Am I doing something wrong or am I doing these correctly?
Does This answer your question?
It doesn't matter if you can't touch ya legs, it's all about the crunch. It's like more of a squeeze, but make sure when you're doing it you actually pull your stomach muscles IN. Don't put your hands behind your head cos it makes you pull your head forward which strains your neck, which you need to try not to move - look straight - imagine a tennis ball under your chin that you wanna keep in place. And just go up as far as you can, it can sometimes help to hold it for a bit, eventually you'll get further. Hope I helped, it's 5am and I haven't slept in 2 days.
Do crunches make anyone else feel sick?
It's not necessary to go all the way up, in fact sometimes you can injure your back that way if you don't properly stretch. Keep your hands away from your neck, as Foghorn said. Rather, lay them by your sides or across your chest.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? (I cross my arms over my chest).
Do them on an exercise ball. Much better.

Sound's like you're doing okay, but just to make sure you might want to consult a fitness guru or someone that's played a sport.
