I think it's fake. Besides, why would they ban YOU because peoples gifting you? Doesn't that mean that peoples actually can set it up so that someone gets banned?? I'm calling bullshit on this.

There's these fake emails that can appear that you sent it from ANYWHERE. I don't remember any specific names but yeah.

Second, why would be state who he is in his email? I mean, does he REALLY have to say "Hello, I am gabe newell and I work at valve."
Not only that but he doesn't even capitalize his name.
Ask steam support about it.
It's completely possible to fake the sender's email address, by the way.
Email Gabe, he'll tell you.
Email gabe and ask.
1. Gabe wouldn't email you about billing problems, Steam Support would.
2. Gabe uses proper caps and grammar.
3. You can spoof a email address.
