That said, pretty much any video of a convention, especially anime or video games, makes me cringe. People singing or dancing poorly (even as a joke) makes me just turn videos off.

Sounds good to me. Honestly though, I've watched these videos so many times it barely phases me. However that My Little Pony McDonalds unboxing one still makes me pause the video sometimes. It's as if I get a terrible feeling of both pity and disgust.

I agree with you there. I mean, I will tell people about it if they ask me a direct question about it, but I don't wave it around everywhere. However, if it is something he really really likes and is tasked to do a presentation about his favorite interest, I don't really see it being too bad. Unfortunately he was not confident or really informative at all. He needed to work on his presentation's pacing and conciseness.
