This is for a little project. You know the biological taxonomic ranks? Kingdom Phylum Class Order Family Genus Species Remember when you were in the 6th grade, being taught this rank, and the orders? The teacher gave you a little phrase, or mnemonic, for you to use to remember the order. For me, it was: King Philip Crossed Over Five Great Seas However, there are countless others. Which one did you use? If you don't have to use a phrase to remember the order, then just tell me the one they taught you.
I'm such a badass rebel, I don't even use mnemonic devices. I just remember it by the organization. Kingdoms=big, large sprawling political entities. Phylums equate to Princes, princes have Princedoms, slightly smaller subdivisions of Kingdoms. Classes are social groups within a larger political entity, so they're next. Orders are smaller groupings of those specific social groups, so I remember that. Families are big, but not massive, and fit right into orders. Genus, I remember as an immediate family and species as the direct family. So, like the order of a society.
You're still in middle school, aren't you?
No, no no no, I can remember all the levels of organization, and if you ''must'' know, I am doing it for Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Zoology_mnemonic&action=history see me there?
Like this: Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species It's not that hard to remember.
I can remember it without a mnemonic, I'm just wondering what your middle school teacher gave YOU to remember it.
I just remembered it as it sounds. It's not that hard. If you have trouble with that, wait until you get into high school and you have to recite 40+ lines of Shakespeare. Try getting a mnemonic for that.

My teacher made up a little song about those. After I heard the song I decided never to learn it. However, the fucking song got stuck in my head during the test, and I aced the test :v:
