My friend has lent me his old PS2. She (the PS2 unit) was dusty as hell, I had to disassemble her and clean her up, now she's ready to go.
So, what are your game recommendations? I've already played some games on emulator, like:
Ape Escape 2
Futurama
God of War
Gran Turismo 4
ICO
Katamari Damacy
Metal Gear Solid 2 - Substance
Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater
Parappa the Rapper 2
Persona 3
Shadow of the Colossus
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 3
Silent Hill 4
Are any of the Final Fantasy games good? I heard Ratchet and Clank is fun as well.
007 Nightfire
I remember making and getting banned for this exact thread. Oh well, Persona 4 of course after 3.
And a ps2 experience is never complete without God Hand.
Of course, as jackattack stated, God Hand.
Ratchet and Clank IS fun, you should definetly try them.
Also, Burnout 3 is awesome on PS2.
The Ratchet & Clank series is pretty good. The first game is a platformer while the second (I think, haven't played it) and third are more third-person shooters. There's also Deadlocked which is just an arena shooter, but it's still fun, if a bit pared down from Up Your Arsenal. Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter are good series too. I also liked The Getaway, but that may just be nostalgia talking.

Play it
007 Nightfire
Side note:The giant blue laser cannon in that game is cool as hell.
Pick up the first Marvel: Ultimate Alliance game and Hulk Ultimate Destruction, I remember being quite fond of those.
Thanks for the recommendations, I'll definitely try some of these games

How come I never heard of this game

This was a really good game. You'll probably like it if you enjoy racing games. There's lots of stuff to unlock and do. I never really hear it mentioned, though. It seems kind of overlooked for a really good game.
ace combats
all of them
Project Snowblind

Black
[editline]17th March 2014[/editline]
Jeopardy
The Muppets Party Cruise is fucking amazing
Unreal Tournament
Spyro
Yeah these
Crash Twinsanity, Crash Tag Team Racing, Kingdom Hearts.
Timesplitters 2
Dark Cloud
Dark Chronicle
I also used to really like the first Shadow Hearts
There's a few more games I can't think of off the top of my head but there's a lot of good games for the PS2.

I know it's on PC too but I first played it on PS2 (also the PS2 version has extra missions). If you can get over the somewhat odd controls its a pretty fun stealth game that also has some of the best set pieces I've ever seen in a fps game, in addition to having drivable vehicles like snowmobiles and motorcycles - on top of having some pretty good humor
Also if you like 007 games and goldeneye you'd probably love it too

Would like to endorse this decision, fine-ass game.

This motherfucker of a game deserves a reboot. Imagine all the capabilities with the resources devs have today.
Devil May Cry 1 and 3.
Resident Evil: Outbreak, RE:Outbreak File #2, Resident Evil 4, Black(some military shooter that was ahead of it's time on PS2). Those are all i can think of off the top of my head and haven't been said in this thread.
There's also Twisted Metal:Black, which was a very fun vehicular combat game.
Disgaea 2 and Soul Nomad if you like Strategy RPG's.
