You know back in the day I once worked hard for money. I worked hard at a pizza shop on the regular 9am to 5pm. Soon enough the pizza joint shut down and I lost my job. Then I was forced to live on the street for nearly three years. During that three years I learned something that totally changed my life. During that time I was totally broke, on the street begging for money. I would get out there and wear my ragged clothes and have my cup ready for passerby's to give me change. I can tell you one thing about begging, that the money always came. THE MONEY ALWAYS CAME! Sometimes I would get $100 for the week and sometimes I would get $500. It made me think, why did I work so hard for my money when everyone just gives it away so easily? It really truly made me feel like I was in that moment truly being who I was as a person. It really helped me understand the meaning of the saying "go with the flow". I was for the first time in my life making a living easy and effortlessly. I certainly don't live like that now but It was really an eye opener for me, and I felt that it would be an eye opener for someone on this forum.
It made me think, why did I work so hard for my money when everyone just gives it away so easily?
What do you mean by "everyone just gives it away so easily"? Do you mean that the average person will spend money on frivolous things, or that people will easily give money to those in need? I do agree with the idea of being yourself, going with the flow, etc. You have to let the money chase you, not chase the money. Do something you enjoy, are skilled in, and that people need, and you will always have opportunities chasing you.
It's one thing to read about, it's another to experience. I hope I don't have to experience homelessness and poverty, but if I do I hope it'll make me a better person in the long run.
I think where you live and what race you are would play major factor, you probably just got a lucky circumstance.
