• Look for ways to dampen sound coming out apartment door
    3 replies, posted
So I live in an apartment and one day I was playing music from these small speakers in my kitchen. They weren't excessively loud or anything but you could easily hear it across the apartment. I went outside to throw some trash and I realized I could still hear my music a few doors down(with my door shut). I don't like the idea of being that noisy neighbor. I have no experience in this, so I was wondering if you guys know if: -There are ways that I can dampen the noise a bit that are coming out my door (I'm not expecting total soundproofing or even relatively close to it) -And if those ways are apartment rental friendly, meaning no permanent fixtures or even screws. Thanks in advance guys!
Towels work, if you have a few to spare.
In my apartment I have a glass dome the height of my fridge and maybe 10 feet wide around that I listen to music in. It's the only way I've found that works to prevent sound from leaking out of the apartment.
