• Is the enemy of your enemy your ally?

Are those who oppose what you oppose necessarily your ally? I've thought a decent amount about this in the discussions of politics being heavy during election season and such a question is a matter of conflicting viewpoints. I personally believe it's a matter of the character of your supposed ally. I suppose it's a grey issue in which certain issues attract and oppose varieties of groups to certain ideals.
Unless he's an REO Speedwagon fan, yes
All depends on the conflict and the different enemies.

If you're talking about politics, maybe If you're talking about war, no.
The most important way to look at it is "the enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy". See: - Greek Cities / Rome v Makedon - Muslims / Copts v Byzantines - Natives / British v French - Italy / Entente v Central Powers - Soviet Union / Allies v Axis - Muhajideen / US v USSR Basically, it's not possible to keep such shaky relationships strong forever
If you're talking about politics, maybe If you're talking about war, no.
I'm generally talking about politics and the spectrum of sides people take on issues.
Well, you could temporarily form an alliance till your enemy has been destroyed. Then, you could either continue the alliance or become enemies. It all depends on the conflict and the ally (the enemy of your enemy). If the enemy of your enemy is also your enemy, then it may be impossible to become allies.
If your enemy is also his own worst enemy doesn't that make him your friend?
If your enemy is also his own worst enemy doesn't that make him your friend?
Yes. If you were plotting to dipose of a ruler, and you got quite close to them, you could egg them on into doing something rash and dangerous by playing up their ego or anger. In that way, they'd be your ally in undoing themselves.

There might be more than two parties
What's the difference between "no" and "it depends on the ally and opposition"? They both mean that there's more to being allies than having a common enemy.
