Found this little guy in my kitchen, it has a huge U shaped mandible. Sorry the pictures aren't the best, poor guy kept flipping on his back when I moved the container.
Does it look almost or exactly like this? IF so, then it's most likely a stag beetle
Yeah, It's most likely a stag beetle. Never seen them around here before.
lol I have a stag beetle encased in acrylic on my desk, it looks pretty close to your pics
The wrong type of Beetle is what it is
Find a female one, create a colony, own the animal world
Is this seriously a show or something in Japan?
they're just a beetle with large mandibles. my bus driver in England gave me a beetle like that and it pinched me so hard, I cried. there is A LOT of force to them. It's not a stag beetle, though. probably the same family.
It's not a stag beetle, though. probably the same family.
Their family is called the stag beetle family. Stag beetle doesn't refer to any specific species, but the entire family of beetles with big ass mandibles.
Well Shit, good thing I didn't pick this guy up with my hands. I let him go after I took pictures of him.
Pokemon was directly based off of shows like these. They served as inspiration.
Ah, it all makes sense now :v:
Might be a female stag beetle like the one on the right
Looks like a bug.
Looks like a bug.
No man, it looks like a dinosaur.
Is this seriously a show or something in Japan?
I remember my classmate showing me this a couple of years ago. I think it's called "japanese bug fight" and it is a internetbased show.
Sell it at re-tail and make some mad bells
definitely not a volkswagen
Thank you Animal Crossing for all that you've taught me.

They mostly use them to turn other males upside down during a fight over a female. The females however have much smaller and thus more precise and painful mandibles.
