Why not write about the unfair treatment of women in the middle east?
Or how lower class citizens are treated differently in capitalistic societies? (especially in terms of education and medical care)
Or how atheists/Christians/Jews are treated in some countries where Islam is a required religion. Also you could look at how Muslims are treated in the USA.
There are a million different cases of inequalities in the modern world.
